One year ago today, former Wales and Wrexham defender Joey 'Mr Wrexham' Jones sadly passed away at the age of 70.

Joey Jones gave his absolute all for this football club and town. Standing tall outside The Turf, his mural serves as a daily reminder of what true passion and loyalty look like.

True club legend and a man of the people.

Looking back at the iconic 1984/85 Panini album, that Chelsea page was packed with Wrexham royalty. Managed by Wrexham legend John Neal, the squad featured both Mickey Thomas and Joey Jones... a proper North Wales connection at Stamford Bridge! 🔴⚪🔵

For those of us old enough to remember, completing an album back then meant relentless playground swapping for those last few stickers! 🎒⚽

Phil Parkinson praised Wrexham's organisation, discipline and belief after the Reds' impressive 1-0 pre-season victory over Manchester United.

Wrexham's next match is against Leeds United at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday 25 July as they begin their pre-season tour of the United States.

The Helsinki Olympic Stadium was a fantastic venue for today's pre-season clash! Built in 1938 for the 1940 Olympics (which were cancelled due to WWII), it played host to a brilliant 1-0 victory for Wrexham over Manchester United 🇫🇮🔴

​Wrexham fielded a strong starting XI and controlled much of the first half, enjoying far more possession as the better team. When former United youth academy player Sam Smith found the back of the net, the goal felt inevitable.

​Both sides made a number of halftime changes, leading to a more even second half, but Manchester United struggled to create clear-cut chances against a balanced and disciplined Wrexham side. What a performance! 👑
