Yesterdays result wasnt what we wanted at all.

The game started frantically for both sides, both pushing for the 1st goal and 1st blood. Before we knew it Acton where 1-0 up, more back and too between both teams, both looking to add to the score. Bang 2-0 acton 🤦🏻‍♂️. The lads didnt let their heads drop, even after some very questionable "tackles"

Half time came and went, after a good team talk, gresford took advantage of the break and came out stronger and a superb finish from Matty made the score 2-1.

A yellow card shortly followed for Acton (should have been earlier 🤷🏻‍♂️), but then with about 15mins to go, the same player scored a hell of a goal, even if it was against us 🤦🏻‍♂️ (no keeper was saving that one), then he skyed a free kick, so swings and roundabouts i suppose.

15mins left now and gresford put the pedal to the metal, a fantastic pass from super Milly Jamie Millington to put Mike Dugine through one on one with the keeper, and a little dink over the top brought the score to 3-2 acton.

Last few minutes of the game saw the same acton player lose his head and be sent off for unsportsman like conduct (about time if you ask some of the lads), and gresford pressed for an equaliser, a frantic goal mouth scramble, brilliant goal line clearance from acton and the final whistle went.

Final score 3-2 acton, but the lads gave their all, and can hold their heads up high.

Time to lick our wounds and get ready for 2 weeks time when we take on buckley vets away

Well yesterday didnt go to plan. We hosted Denbigh wanders vets down at Gresford Colliery Sports & Social Club in the 2nd NEWFA league game of the season.

We hoped to carry our progress forward from 2 weeks ago, but it wasnt to be. After going up 1-0 in the 1st 5 minutes, denbigh held tough and managed to put 3 past us in reply. Final score gresford 1 - denbigh 3.

Some positives to take from the game but it just wasnt our day, the woodwork being our enemy at times, but showing signs of great team rotation, and all players fighting for positions

We lick our wounds, and get ready to go again this coming sunday, where we welcome Acton Football Club vets to gresford for match day 3 💪🏻⚽️

⚽️⚽️ This weekend we welcome Denbigh Wanderers to Gresford Colliery Sports & Social Club. Come on down sunday 2pm KO and support the lads, where we hope to continue the form we started the season with.

Its been a while since we last played this team, so will be interesting to see if they have made improvements. ⚽️⚽️

Well the 1st game of the new season is now done and dusted. And what a game it was.

We knew playing White Bear FC would be a close game, as it always has between us the last couple of seasons, but we managed to get 3 points on the board in the end. A great display of teamwork brought it home for us.

Here we go it’s game day!

MATCHDAY |

Well it's finally here and after some to-ing and fro-ing we do indeed start the 26/27 campaign at home!

We welcome Gresford Colliery Vets to Mancot Lane in the Division 2 opener. Gresford are no strangers to us having been with us in the league the last 2 seasons and we're a step on our way to the veterans cup Semi Final in 24/25.

Our record against them in the league is actually played 4, won 2 lost 2 (Bear lead by one goal on goal difference) which means 2 evenly matched teams and a great game in prospect. Its going to be 19 degrees in the sunshine with a gentle breeze so perfect conditions to get yourselves down to support the lads.

Don't forget it's pints afterwards at The White Bear with Cheeky Pig running their BBQ Tent.

One of our own is fighting the battle of his life! renowned for loving a battle on the pitch stew faces another battle this time probably the biggest battle anyone can face . Not one’s to turn challenges down the old school Sunday league lads are getting behind stew and organising a charity match in aid of stew . Let’s get behind this fantastic cause and get yourselves down to Lex FC 20th September for what should be a great day of football
