U7s | Brymbo Lodge & Hope Dragons ⚽️🖤🤍

A fantastic morning of football for our Under 7s as we welcomed Brymbo Lodge and Hope Dragons to our new home at Llay School! ⚫️⚪️

LLAY WELFARE PITMEN ⚫️⚪️

The boys and girls started really fast against Hope, showing some great play and even better teamwork to grab four goals! Nellie got a brace, with Thomas and Tommy adding a goal apiece. 👏

The second game saw us face a strong Brymbo side. The team showed great determination to come from a goal down and secure the win, with two brilliant goals from Aran and another for Tommy. A big well done to Alfie W, whose defensive work really helped the team to victory! 💪

Our third game was against another Brymbo side, with a single goal separating the teams. Thomas grabbed an early goal before the team showed some fantastic defensive work to protect their lead and secure another win.

We finished the morning against Hope, ending on a high with another victory! Goals came from Tommy, Thomas, Freddie and two more from Nellie. Some brilliant football from this bunch throughout the morning! 🖤🤍

LLAY WELFARE COALMEN ⚫️⚪️

A brilliant set of games today! 👏 Everyone worked hard, showed great teamwork and played some fantastic football.

We won our first game 1–0, with Reggie grabbing the winner! This was followed by two fantastic 4–0 victories, with Max and Lennon both scoring twice in each game. We finished the morning with a narrow 1–0 defeat.

Alfie, Huxley and Cooper also played really well and put in some fantastic performances. Well done, everyone! 🖤🤍

A brilliant run out this weekend in our new kit for the Llay Welfare u6s at the GWELLA round robin.
We took 11 kids to form 2 teams and lots of goals were scored in a fun morning!

Man of the match awards were dished out to Alex Gilligan and Joseph Poyner while we need to shout out Fergus Hogarth who knocked in 6 goals while playing a year up - he’s 4 years old 💪

Back to training for the gang Tuesday ready for the start of the Wrexham Youth league this weekend.

⚽️ U9s Match Day Report ⚫️⚪️

A fantastic morning of football for our U9s, with all three teams showing plenty of hard work, determination and some really good football throughout.

There were lots of positives across the morning, with the boys working hard as a team, moving the ball well, passing with purpose and creating plenty of chances.

Coach Mike’s team showed fantastic attitude and determination throughout. Although the results didn’t quite go their way in the opening games, there was no lack of effort, with the boys battling right until the final whistle. They finished strongly and were really unlucky not to come away with a win in their final game.

Coach Bob’s team played some excellent football, working hard to pass the ball around and create chances. Their defensive work was also superb, with the lads playing in goal having a relatively quiet morning — a great sign of the work being done in front of them.

Coach Max’s team started really well and looked comfortable in their opening game. They became a little complacent and sloppy in the second match, but showed great character to respond in the final game. The boys got back to doing the basics right, worked much harder and finished the morning strongly. A great learning experience and plenty of positives to take forward.

Gresford Away ⚽️🖤🤍

What a start to the season for our Under 7s! Their first league fixture saw us head away to Gresford, and what a morning of football it was.

LLAY WELFARE PITMEN ⚫️⚪️

The Pitmen started really strongly, with all the boys and girls getting stuck in and winning their individual battles. Tommy Worrall led the scoring with four goals, while Aran Roberts added two. ⚽️

We started the second game quickly again, with Emilia Gadie getting on the scoresheet, followed by her partner in crime Nellie Edwards. Aran Roberts continued his fine morning with another two goals.

The third game saw us take on Hope Dragons, and the boys and girls finished the morning unbeaten. Nellie Edwards grabbed two goals, with a goal apiece for Tommy Worrall, Thomas Wilson and Freddie Edwards.

There was also some excellent defending from new signing Alfie Weigh, who put in a fantastic performance on his debut for the Welly and deservedly picked up Player of the Match. 👏

LLAY WELFARE COALMEN ⚫️⚪️

Another brilliant set of games from everyone today! The Coalmen won all four games, with results of 1–0, 2–0, 3–0 and 5–0. ⚽️🔥

Alfie, Lennon, Aksel, Cooper and Max all got on the scoresheet.

Aksel really got stuck in, Lennon was a constant threat throughout, and the passing between Max and Cooper was excellent. Huxley was brilliant defensively, while Reggie worked incredibly hard for the team.

👏 Player of the Match: Cooper — a fantastic all-round performance, scoring two goals and showing great skill, determination and work rate.

A fantastic morning of football from everyone involved, with some great teamwork, attacking play and defending on show. 💪⚽️

⚫️⚪️ A busy couple of days for our Under 7s! ⚫️⚪️

Two fixtures in two days as we prepare for the start of our league campaign this weekend — and what a couple of days it’s been!

First up, we welcomed Rhos Aelwyd to the Welly on Sunday morning for six closely contested games between the teams. The football these boys and girls are playing is unreal! 🤩 We came away with some fantastic results, plenty of goals, and, most importantly, lots of smiles and enjoyment.

A big HAPPY 7th BIRTHDAY to Aran Roberts, who celebrated his birthday on Sunday! 🎉🎂 Aran even brought cakes along for all the players and coaches — what a superstar! 👏

Then, on Monday night, we made the short trip to Farndon Under 7s, and once again our boys and girls put in a fantastic performance. For many of them, it was their first time playing on grass, but they adapted brilliantly, showing great skill, determination and teamwork against a very physical side.

Going unbeaten all night, these boys and girls really are going from strength to strength! 💪⚽️

A special shoutout to Alfie Davies, who scored his first goal for the Welly! ⚽️👏 Well done, young man!

A massive thank you to both Rhos Aelwyd and Farndon for two great games and for giving the children the opportunity to play, develop and enjoy their football. 👏

A big shout out to Gareth who tonight started his trial at MANCHESTER UNITED🔴

This is A special one for coach Mike having taken Gareth from having to hold his hand just to get him on the training pitch, the many hugs we’ve had to have after a little knock on the pitch to becoming and absolute bulldozer and playing football full of confidence, with a big smile on his face, and now being scouted by the second most successful team in England.

Well done Gareth, we are all very proud of you.

⚽️ Another fantastic morning for our U6s! ⚫️⚪️

Our U6s were back at the Gwella/Deeside today and what a morning of football it was! 👏

With 3 wins and 1 draw, the team finished top of the top group — a fantastic achievement! 🏆🔥

Some of the things we’ve been working on in training this week really came into play today, with the kids showing great attacking football, composure under pressure and confidence playing out from the back. 👏⚽️

This team just keeps impressing us with their hard work, determination and, most importantly, the way they work for each other. 💪

A special mention to Home-Start Cymru Flintshire, who today’s tournament was raising money for. ❤️

We hope our team’s contribution, along with the other money raised on the day, helps support the fantastic work this charity does within our local community.
