There isn’t just one way to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
As you learn, you’ll find techniques that suit your movement, your strengths and the way you like to train.
If one approach doesn’t work, there’s always another to explore.
Over time, you begin to build a style that’s your own.

Sometimes progress comes from changing one small detail.
A different grip.
A change in position.
A slight adjustment in timing.
It’s often the smallest changes that make the biggest difference.

Training with a variety of teammates helps build understanding and develop your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu over time.
No two sessions are ever quite the same, and that’s all part of the learning process.

EVERYONE STARTS SOMEWHERE
Every member started as a beginner.
The first session.
The first technique.
The first round.
Progress comes from showing up, learning, and building over time.
That’s what Scala means, a step in the process.

COACHING MATTERS
Coaching doesn’t stop after the demonstration. At Scala BJJ, coaches Gary and Dom are on the mats throughout every session.
Demonstrating techniques, answering questions, and working with members individually as they practise.
Sometimes it’s a small adjustment. Sometimes it’s going through the movement again. Sometimes it’s finding a different approach that works better for you.
That one-to-one coaching and feedback is a key part of how we help members build understanding and develop their own Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
