The final fun tournament of the year ( or maybe not!) took place today with a good turnout under a blue sky. Handicaps and jokers meant a more level playing court for all!
Our 2 finalist pairs were Clare and Jack, Faye and Andrew.
Clare and Jack just pipped Faye and Andrew to the trophy post, in a very close final rubber. Well done to the four of you! And thanks to all who competed for making the afternoon so enjoyable!

Caroline has gone on tour, competing for the first time on clay. John her coach from Yarm is travelling with her.
First tournament complete at Petris in Romania.

CHAMPIONS AT BIRCHWOOD WHEELCHAIR TENNIS TOURNAMENT A successful tournament for our 2 wheelchair players. Caroline and Melissa train every Saturday at Yarm, both came away champions.
Melissa & partner won the doubles, beating Caroline & partner in a tight match 10-6 in a 3rd set match tie break. Caroline went on to win the singles winning all 4 of her matches. 👏👏. Very proud of you both. .

Our Summer Fun mixed doubles tournament may not have seen much sun, but saw plenty of fun!
A great set of handicap rules including playing with the wrong hand occasionally, meant plenty of laughs, and also some great, if unexpected shots! 😂
Well done to our four finalists, Barbara, Andrew, Jack and Karen, with the very close final being won by Barbara and Andrew! 🎉
Thanks to everyone who took part and made the afternoon such fun! 😃

Yarm winners and then Regional winners of the Boys doubles 18U Play Your Way to Wimbledon are at Wimbledon this week competing. Today they won their first match in an exciting match tie break. 👏👏 Well done Tom and Toby , and good luck. Durham & Cleveland Tennis
