LITTER PICKER VACANCY

Following the sad death of Ken Westerman, the Parish Council has a vacancy for a new litter picker for Brafferton and Helperby.
We need a community-minded, self-starter who will collect, bag and dispose of litter (but not fallen leaves) in public bins at times to suit him or herself. The scope of this paid job (£30 a month) includes roads, footpaths and public areas in the village inside the 30 m.p.h. signs. Any hazards such as fly-tipping or broken glass should not be touched but reported to the parish clerk.
A high visibility jacket or vest, gloves, hand sanitiser, a grabber and heavy-duty rubbish bags, will be provided.

🚗🔥 Helperby & Brafferton Vehicle Show – Sunday 27th September! 🔥🚜

We’re gearing up for another brilliant Helperby & Brafferton Vehicle Show on the village cricket field — and everyone’s invited!

Expect an amazing mix of sports cars, classics, military vehicles, vintage machines, motorcycles, and plenty of surprises in between. It’s always a cracking day out for families, enthusiasts, and anyone who loves seeing something a bit different.

🕙 Viewing: 10:00–14:00
🚘 Show Vehicles Arrival: 08:00–09:30
🍔 Refreshments available on-site
🎟️ Free entry (donations welcome)

All funds raised support the Sports Association and pavilion improvements.

Got a vehicle you’d like to show - just anything that you do not see very often on the road about sums up the criteria!

Just incase someone was thinking of getting some great Drone shots of the Cycling 🚴‍♀️ today it’s probably not the wisest idea.. So please don’t.

But on a better note, if you can’t get out of the village go down to the Helperby Village Hall and grab a coffee ☕️ and a but of Cake 🧁
