🏉 Introducing Our 2026/27 Club Committee

As we look ahead to the new season, we are pleased to introduce the committee and club officials who will help guide and support the Club throughout 2026/27.

🔹 Chairman – Romain Cames
Leads committee meetings and represents the Club with external organisations.

🔹 Vice Chairman – Ryan Roodt
Supports and advises the Chairman in the running of the Club.

🔹 Secretary – TBC
Responsible for meeting minutes, correspondence and membership records.

🔹 Treasurer – Jamie Howard
Oversees the Club’s finances, financial records and payment of expenses.

🔹 Men’s Open Age Team Co-ordinator – Josh Cheang
Acts as the main link between the players and the committee.

🔹 Girls U14s and U16s Team Co-ordinator – TBC
Acts as the main link between the girls’ teams and the committee.

🔹 Fixture Secretary and Safeguarding Officer – John Atkin
Organises fixtures with other clubs and ensures safeguarding procedures are followed.

🔹 President – Bob West
A Club stalwart who helps preserve our history, traditions and values.

🔹 Vice President – Paul Lister
Supports and advises the President.

🔹 Vice President – Jim Baldwin
Focuses on sponsorship and keeping former and long-standing members involved in Club life.

🔹 Vice President – David Matthewman
Supports matchdays by organising raffles and welcoming opposition teams and referees.

A huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time to support the Club. We are looking forward to working together and building on the momentum of another fantastic season.

The AGM is an important event in the life of our Club. It gives members the opportunity to vote on key decisions, including the composition of the Club Committee, and to discuss plans for the season ahead.

Following a truly fantastic season, we want to build on the momentum both on and off the pitch. We would therefore encourage as many Club Members as possible to attend and have their say in the future of the Club.

This weekend, Rowntree RUFC are back at home as we host ThThirsk RUFCor our final game of the season.

It’s been an incredible year, with the boys securing promotion and putting together a season to remember 🙌

But this Saturday is about more than just rugby. It’s a chance to come together as a club and celebrate the season, while also honouring Grant Cockburn — a true legend of Rowntree.

We’re asking everyone to:

Wear an old Rowntree shirt
Add something tartan in tribute to Grant

Let’s make this a special day

This is a rallying call to all fans, former players, family members, and friends of the club. Come down, show your support, and celebrate with us.
