The 2026 Bord Gáis Energy Legends Tour Series continues with Wexford’s Dickie Murphy.
With a career that spanned over 20 years, Murphy is one of the most respected and well-known hurling referees of all time.
The Enniscorthy native began his refereeing career in 1985. He quickly rose up the ranks from officiating at junior games and went on to referee four All-Ireland Hurling Finals, the first of which was the 1992 final between Kilkenny and Cork.
Interestingly, the mild-mannered Murphy, who is well-known for his people skills only ever issued one red card during Championship hurling.
This tour is part of the Bord Gáis Energy Legends Tour Series. These special tours, first introduced in 2008, provide fans with an unforgettable opportunity to hear memories and anecdotes first-hand from their GAA heroes.

The GAA Legends Tour continues with Galway’s great David Burke on Saturday 30th May
The St Thomas’ clubman was a key member of the Galway hurling side for 16 years and was a leader for the Tribesmen both on and off the field.
As well as captaining Galway to All-Ireland glory in 2017 and ending a 29-year wait for Liam in the county, Burke has won two All-Ireland club titles with St. Thomas’. Interestingly, he has the unique distinction of being named Man of the Match in an All-Ireland inter-county and club final.
Burke was part of the Galway side who claimed the county’s first ever Leinster Senior Hurling title in 2012. He went on to win two more Leinster titles as well as three National Hurling League medals.
Known for his dominance at midfield, Burke has been named on the All-Star team on four occasions.
