🔹𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐩 𝐰.𝐞. 𝟐𝟎/𝟗/𝟐𝟔🔹

• 𝐂𝐞𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧
Well done to Michelle Brett who achieved a PB of 1:50:18 at this scenic, hilly, and rugged North Mayo course on Saturday.

• 𝐈𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐃𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧
It was the final event of this year’s Race Series on Sunday morning with almost 6,500 finishers. There was strong representation from Lusk with some excellent performances and more outstanding volunteer support from club members. Five athletes achieved a sub 1:30 with Luke Carter almost making it a sub 1:20 with a brilliant 1:20:13.

The others under the 90 minute mark were Donnacha Maguire 1:25:53, Aidan Langley 1:27:37, Patrick Whelan 1:28:53 and Keith Greene 1:29:04

Our female athletes were also in good form with Una Gaines coming home in a fabulous 1:34:31 which was 1st in the F55 category. Niamh Loughlan 1:39:05 and Helen Barry 1:41:49 were next over the finish line.

We also came in 3rd in the M50 teams with Aidan Langley, Patrick Whelan and Mark Dunne all contributing.

Conor McGrath completed his mile in an excellent 5:11

Aidan Langley was there in his St John’s Ambulance capacity and Marty Morrissey also made an appearance although it’s unclear which one is the bigger celebrity now.

• 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐫𝐮𝐧
Club members visited 7 parkrun events on Saturday.

Liam O’Donnell was first finisher at Ardgillan with a PB of 19:13 and Michelle Walsh (24:46) was 2nd female. Aoife Langley achieved a PB of 32:32. Geraldine McHale (21:38) was 1st female at Donabate.

Other parkrun locations attended were Broadmeadow Linear, Royal Canal, Limerick, Ballymount and Jablonna in Poland which was a lovely forest route on the northern outskirts of Warsaw visited by Peter & Siobhan Doyle.

🔹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 ✨

We’re delighted to see work underway at the Hub - an exciting development for Lusk and the wider community! 🎉

The 3.5-hectare facility will include a state-of-the-art 8-lane athletics track, long, triple and high jump areas, pole vault and throwing facilities, alongside a full-size all-weather football pitch and training area.

With new changing facilities, extended parking and a dedicated teen space, this will be a fantastic addition to Lusk.

For us at Lusk AC, having a dedicated athletics facility on our doorstep will be a huge boost for our athletes, coaches and the future growth of the club. 💙

We can’t wait to see it take shape over the next year! 🌟

Another week, another collection of heroic efforts, flying feet, and questionable post‑race selfies. Lusk AC showed up everywhere — roads, trails, parkruns — like a highly‑motivated swarm of very fit bees.

𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻
The Lusk crew were there in big numbers with 24 among the 1,815 finishers. They delivered some seriously strong performances . Here are the best 3 male and female times.

The Foys took on one of the world’s biggest half marathons and made it look easy.

Brilliant performances and brilliant representation for the club with Annette giving an impressive interview on the BBC mid race although it probably cost her a sub 1:50

𝗟𝘂𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝟱 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲 & 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽

Gavin Gleeson smashed it with a 32:42 and 4th place in the M45 category. He’s currently in great form.

𝗙𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻
A tough trail race with nearly 400m of climbing — the kind of course that makes your legs question your life choices. Organised by Trail Criu in Donard there were amazing vibes and great views.

James Whelan – 2:04:56 Super effort on a seriously challenging route.

𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗿𝘂𝗻 – 𝗟𝘂𝘀𝗸 𝗔𝗖 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲
The weekly takeover continues. Lusk AC were represented at 6 locations across Ireland and GB.

Well done to our Lusk AC athletes who took part in the first Dublin Juvenile Cross Country League of the season today at Newbridge House, Donabate. 👏

A fantastic effort from everyone who ran, with lots of great performances and plenty of Lusk AC spirit on show! 💙

Thank you to our volunteers who gave their time today to help host and organise the event. From course set-up and marshalling to registration and everything in between, it takes a huge team to put an event like this together — and we really appreciate every one of you. 🙌
