Last night we had our club matchplay finals in Old County & a great crowd up watching the action, and we finished with tea and cake and the presentations to the winners along with our Pat O'Byrne Officers prize presented by his wife Angela to winner Declan Costello.

In the matchplay Ladies A section, Vera Glennon and Agnes Redmond had a titanic battle, but Agnes finally claimed victory at the 36th hole. Well done to both ladies – what a super match!
After both battling through a really tough Gents Juniors section, Eddie Hughes was just pipped at the post by Fintan Byrne. This was a really competitive match, played in a great spirit. Well done to both players.
In the Gents Inters, Derek Conway staged a great comeback, and played the last three holes really well, to beat Denis Grace at the 36th hole and deservedly retain his crown. Well done Derek!
Finally, in the Gents Seniors, we saw the meeting of Stephen Murray and Karl Murphy. Both players had shown strong form in reaching the final. In the end, Stephen was just a little strong for Karl, and continued his great run of results in claiming the trophy. Congratulations to him!

The club matchplay quarter-finals were played last evening. We had 12 matches, and some fantastic pitch and putt. But there has to be a Spain and a France in a knockout situation. Congratulations to all the players who made it through.

Great news from Loughlinstown in the Leinster Strokeplay Qualifying today as we had five Seniors - George McGreal, Tom O'Reilly, Shane Redmond, Stephen Power and Stephen Murray with Derek Conway in the Inters and the Juniors we had Daniele DI Tofano qualify. Well done to all lads and the best of luck in the finals in Laytown in two weeks time.
We are also delighted to see Stephen Murray and Tom O'Reilly have been picked to play on the Dublin Senior Inter County team 2026👏👏

Earlier this week, we had the final of the Sean Tyre, and it turned out to be a great match. Agnes and Dave Redmond got out into a strong lead, but Ken McKinlay and Gerry Clarges reeled them back in, finally going into a one shot lead at the 34th hole. However, fantastic twos at the 35th and 36th holes saw Agnes and Dave win the match 1 up in a really exciting finish. Congratulations to them, and also well done to the lads for their great run to the final. I’d also like to thank all 16 teams who entered. It was a very enjoyable competition, and the course was amazing; a huge shout out to everybody who worked so hard to have Old County in such great condition and thanks to all who stayed around for the presentation.
