Not the result we had hoped for after a huge fight, but we miss out on a place in the semi-finals. We regroup and refocus as we target a strong finish in the crossover matches.

We return to action on Friday at 13:30 where we will play the 4th Place side in Pool A in our first of two Crossover Matches.

Walking Hockey is having its moment this Summer 🤩

Clubs across the country are embracing Walking Hockey as a fresh, fun way to encourage more people to pick up a stick in a welcoming environment, regardless of ability, age or health.

In the last few weeks, North Kildare and Avoca have hosted Walking Hockey Festivals, welcoming teams from across Ireland, and indeed Europe, to enjoy days of friendly competition. From first-time participants to experienced players, the festivals celebrated everything that makes Walking Hockey special: inclusivity, friendship and a shared love of the game.

Is your club interested in adding Walking Hockey to its offerings? Hockey Ireland has grants available to help you do so! Thus far, over €3,000 has been distributed to clubs across all four provinces to help cover things like equipment, pitch hire, and post-training refreshments.

Hockey Mondays Episode #137 - FIH Hockey Pro League & Nations Cup Update, and Loreto’s Mothers & Others Success! 🔊

In this week’s episode we take a look back at a busy couple of days of hockey on the international stage as our IRL Men began their FIH Hockey Nations Cup campaign, and our IRL Women returned to FIH Hockey Pro League duties.

We also chat with members of Loreto Hockey Club about their hugely successful Mothers & Others Summer Hockey programme, which over the last nine years has grown from 45 participants to over 300.

GOLD FOR THE IRL O55 WOMEN 🥇☘️

A fantastic few weeks for the Ireland Women’s Masters Hockey teams culminated in an incredible first place finish for the O55 Women in Stormont as they stormed to Home Nations victory.

Alongside O55s gold, five other teams also finished in the medal places, with the O45s, O50s and the O60s all coming second, and the O35s and O40s both secuing third spot.

Congratulations to all the teams, their players, coaches and managers on an incredible few weeks!

A huge step in the right direction in our second outing against The Netherlands. Lots of positives to carry forward into our next games.
