ANNOUNCEMENT! ⚠
From September's Shamrock Cup onwards, Ireland BJJ will be enforcing the IBJJF NoGi Uniform code for kids.
These rules have been in place internationally for a number of years, and any clubs involved in international NoGi competition will have been following them already. From September onwards, these will be in line with international rules.
The full rules are available at ibjjf.org, but you can see the image below for some examples of the legal types of rashguard.
The basic points-
- Kids must wear black or white rashguards, with a minimum of 10% of the top in their belt colour.
- No other belt colour in the IBJJF system can be a part of the uniform
- Shorts follow the same rules as the top. See the rules books for clarification.
Most Jiu Jitsu brands now stock IBJJF legal rashguards, and many Jiu Jitsu academies have begun to create their own IBJJF legal equipment.
The examples in the image are for reference only, and we strongly recommend that parents, teams, and coaches refer to the IBJJF website and rules books for the exact rules and regulations.
