Like many physical activities is also boosts fitness level, keep kids active, boosts, self-esteem and improves confidence levels. Children are also taught not to use it outside of the classroom and the importance of respecting others. You can't box without getting fit just as you can't swim without getting wet. You can't punch anything for three minutes - heavy bag, speedball, pads, let alone another human being - without a good level of cardiovascular fitness.

🇮🇪🥊 WHAT A YEAR FOR CHARLIE! 🥊🇮🇪

There may be no European silverware this time, but there is so much more to be proud of.

At just 16 years of age, Charlie has represented Ireland at U17 level, stepping onto the European stage and gaining experience that will stay with him for the rest of his boxing career.

This year has been nothing short of brilliant. 🏆

🥇 National U17 Champion
🏆 Various other titles and successes
🇮🇪 Represented Ireland twice
🥊 Gained invaluable experience at the highest level

Every fight, every training session, every setback and every victory has helped shape the boxer Charlie is becoming.

From everyone at Enniscorthy Boxing Academy, we couldn’t be prouder of you, Charlie. ❤️

You have worked incredibly hard, both inside and outside the gym, and you have earned your place on the Irish team.

Tonight might not have gone the way you wanted, but this is only one chapter in a much bigger story.

Keep your head up, keep working, keep believing.

At 16, your journey is only beginning. 🇮🇪🥊

The story continues… 💚🤍🧡
