A winning try with just THREE minutes remaining sealed a brilliant comeback victory for our senior ladies on Sunday! ๐Ÿ™Œ

After a fiercely contested opening, Omagh crossed twice to lead 10โ€“0. Captain Angela Ferris produced a superb try-saving tackle during a demanding first half, before debutant Zoe Green raced down the wing to open Letterkennyโ€™s account. Zara Shorttโ€™s conversion made it 10โ€“7 at the break.

Letterkenny brought renewed intensity after half-time, with powerful carries and huge defensive efforts throughout the team. Niamh Farrell and Player of the Match Sarah Glynn were particularly impressive in a physical forward battle.

Omagh extended their lead to 15โ€“7, but the ladies kept believing. Zara Shortt crossed with 15 minutes remaining to narrow the gap to 15โ€“12 and set up a tense finish.

Then came the decisive moment! Caoimhe Rooney Friel charged down an Omagh kick, gathered the loose ball and raced over for the winning try. Zara added the conversion to seal a memorable 19โ€“15 victory! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Both Letterkenny RFC senior menโ€™s teams were on the road on Saturday, 17th October, with two closely contested fixtures.

๐Ÿ‰ Lisburn 24โ€“19 Letterkenny 1st XV

Our 1st XV narrowly missed out away to Lisburn, with just five points separating the sides at full time.

Cody Laverty crossed for two tries, with captain Dan Faulkner also touching down. Jack Robinson added two conversions.

๐Ÿ‰ Donegal Town 19โ€“22 Letterkenny 2nd XV

Our 2nd XV came out on top in a tight encounter with neighbours Donegal Town RFC, securing a hard-earned away victory! ๐Ÿ‘

Cillian Boyle scored twice, with David Ward and Jordan Devenney also crossing the whitewash. Marc Gavigan added a conversion.

This October, Letterkenny RFC is coming together to raise awareness and show our support for everyone affected by breast cancer.

๐ŸŽ€ LADIES IN ACTION THIS SUNDAY

Our Senior Ladies welcome Omagh Ladies this Sunday, 18th October, with kick-off at 2pm. The team will proudly wear pink ribbons in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A story of rugby, inclusion and belonging โ€” catch the documentary TRY! at Century Cinemas, Letterkenny, from 16โ€“19 October, with screenings at 5:45pm each day.

Richie wasnโ€™t allowed to play the sport he loves because of his disability โ€” until Mixed Ability rugby came along. TRY! follows four Irish players as they defy expectations on their journey to an inclusive and competitive World Cup.

Itโ€™s a celebration of the power of sport to bring people together and create a community where everyone belongs. ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›
