🌧️ WATERFORD GREENWAY HALF MARATHON 🌧️

A big well done to Newbridge AC senior member Steven Loughlin, who took on the Waterford Greenway Half Marathon in some very wet and challenging conditions.

Steven put in a strong run to finish in a brilliant 1:24:36👏💚🤍

Definitely not the easiest day to be out racing 13.1 miles, but a great performance in tough conditions.

Well done Steven - another super result for the club! 💪

🌧️ TULLAMORE HALF MARATHON 🌧️

A huge well done to the Newbridge AC athletes who braved some very wet conditions to take on the Tullamore Half Marathon last weekend! 💚🤍

It certainly wasn’t a day for fair-weather running, but that didn’t stop our crew from putting in a fantastic set of performances across the 13.1 miles. 👏

🏃‍♂️💚 Junior Win for Jamie at the Clane 4 Mile!

A huge well done to one of our newest Newbridge AC members, Jamie O'Brien, who produced a brilliant run at the Clane AC 4 Mile Road Race last Friday evening.

Jamie showed plenty of confidence from the start, putting himself right into the lead pack and staying in contention throughout.

He crossed the line in a fantastic 4th place overall in 23:13, while also taking the honours as 1st Junior. 🥇👏

A superb performance and a very exciting start to his time at Newbridge AC!

🥈🇮🇪 International Silver for JP🥈

What a way to finish an incredible season!

Huge congratulations to our own JP Archbold, who added another international medal to his collection yesterday while representing Ireland U18 at the Scottish Championships in Aberdeen.

JP produced another superb performance to finish 2nd and take home the silver medal - a brilliant result and a fitting end to what has been a phenomenal 2026 track and field season. 🌟

From national success to international competition, JP has represented himself, his family, Newbridge AC and Ireland with distinction throughout the year, and everyone at the club is incredibly proud of all he has achieved. 💚

A big well done also to Anne Brennan, who travelled as part of the Ireland management team.

And with that, the 2026 track and field season is finally wrapped up! 😄

💚 Super Newbridge AC Turnout at the Kildare AC Anniversary Races 💚

A fantastic showing from Newbridge AC at the Kildare AC Anniversary Races last Sunday, with a brilliant turnout from across the club. 👏

It was great to see both our juvenile and senior athletes out in force across the 3.5km, 5km and 10km races, with Newbridge AC represented right at the front of the field and club members finishing inside the top five across all three distances.

Days like this are what club athletics is all about - athletes of different ages and stages lining up together, supporting one another and representing Newbridge AC with pride. 💚

A huge well done to everyone who raced and congratulations to Kildare AC on marking their anniversary with such a great event.

Juvenile Summer Update - International Stars🌟

What a summer it has been for Newbridge AC, with four of our juvenile athletes representing Ireland on the international stage - and all four returning home with medals! 💚🤍🧡

FISEC Games, Budapest
JP, Eabha and Eoghan were selected to represent Ireland at the FISEC Games, where they produced some outstanding performances in very hot conditions.

🥇 JP had an incredible championships, winning the Long Jump with a new Championship Record of 7.38m, before making it double gold with victory in the 400m in a new PB of 49.79.

🥈 Eabha smashed her 400m PB, racing to silver in a brilliant 56.81 seconds.

🥈 Eoghan also brought home silver, setting a new PB of 14.98 in the 110m hurdles.

All three played their part as Ireland went on to win both the boys’ and girls’ team competitions. A huge well also to Derek and Anne, who were part of the Irish management team. 👏

SIAB Track & Field International, Belfast
Following his Tailteann Games victory, Kyle earned selection for the Irish Schools team and lined up in the sprint hurdles at the Mary Peters Track.

Competing against the very best young athletes from Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales, Kyle powered home to claim an outstanding individual bronze medal and another PB. 🥉 His performance also helped the Irish boys’ team secure second place overall.

Four athletes. Four international medals. Plenty of personal bests, a Championship Record and memories that will last a lifetime. 🌟

Everyone at Newbridge AC is incredibly proud of Eabha, Eoghan, JP and Kyle - not only for what they achieved, but for the way they represented their club and country and continue to inspire our younger athletes.

The future is very bright. 💚

💙💛 A LITTLE PIECE OF KILDARE ATHLETICS HISTORY — DESIGNED BY ONE OF OUR OWN 💛💙

We’re very proud to share that the official logo being used to mark 100 years of Kildare Athletics was designed by our very own Newbridge AC senior athlete and committee member, Chris Fox. 👏

Chris’ design was chosen to represent the Kildare Athletics Centenary Celebrations, marking an incredible 100 years of organised athletics in the county from 1926–2026.

And there’s another important part to the celebrations…

As part of the centenary, Kildare Athletics is compiling a historical exhibition celebrating the clubs, athletes and people who have shaped athletics in the county over the past century.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have:

📸 Old photographs
📰 Newspaper reports or cuttings
📄 Old club documents, programmes or results
🏅 Memorabilia connected with former or current Kildare athletics clubs
📚 Information or stories relating to clubs that are no longer active

Around 60 clubs have existed across Kildare over the years, with information being sought on approximately 47 former or closed clubs.

There are some fascinating pieces of local history still out there!

Any original items provided can be copied and returned to their owner, so if there’s an old athletics scrapbook, photograph album or newspaper clipping tucked away in a drawer or attic somewhere, this could be the perfect time to dig it out!

There’s no better way to kick off the Cross Country season than with the Newbridge A.C. Open Cross Country! 💚

Join us on Saturday, 19th September at Newbridge College for what is always a brilliant afternoon of racing, competition and club spirit as athletes from across the country get the new XC season underway.

From our youngest U8 runners right through to the Open race, there’s something for everyone - and plenty to race for! 👟

🏅 U8–U12: Medals for all finishers
🏅 U14–U16: Medals for the Top 10
💶 Open Race: Cash prizes for the Top 3 male & female athletes*
🏆 Perpetual Trophy for the Best Visiting U16 Club
*all participants must be registered members of an Athletics Ireland club.

Race Programme:
⏰ 12:30pm – U8 | 300m
⏰ 12:40pm – U10 | 600m
⏰ 12:50pm – U12 | 1,200m
⏰ 1:10pm – U14 | 1,800m

Girls will race first, followed by boys in each age group.

🌟 WHEN YOU GET TO MEET YOUR HEROES💚

What a night to remember for our juvenile athlete Róise Coogan, who was in Birmingham last night rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in Irish athletics at the European Athletics Championships! 🤩

And what a night she picked…

🥇 Mark English produced a sensational performance to become European Champion in the Men’s 800m - a brilliant and historic victory for Ireland.

🥈 Rhasidat Adeleke delivered another huge performance on the European stage, taking a magnificent silver medal in the Women’s 200m final.

For a young athlete like Róise, getting the chance to meet athletes competing at this level is pretty special. 💚

These are the moments that inspire the next generation - seeing Irish athletes standing on European podiums and realising just how far the sport can take you.

We have a feeling these photos will be treasured for a long time!
