Our senior ladies season came to a close this afternoon when a much depleted squad exited the championship at the semifinal stage.
To say we are proud of the effort that our ladies gave to John Mitchels this year is an understatement. We had girls who traveled the length and breadth of the country to wear the green and gold and from the very first session back in February to our final outing of the year, this afternoon in Ballyseedy , we had a group of Ladies who gave their all for our club.
2026 was a year where we introduced many new faces to the Senior ladies squad so congratulations to those who made the Senior debut in 2026. We welcomed two trophies over the threshold of Ballyseedy this year and the leadership shown by our senior girls along with some new faces was instrumental in making it a great year.
Thanks also to the coaches Rory , John and Mick for their effort and dedication.

Our 16 team enjoyed a well-earned recovery session in Banna Leisure Centre this morning after edging out their semi-final Thursday after extra time. All focus will now turn to the Town League final against either Austin Stacks or Ardfert with a time and date for the final to be confirmed.

A huge thank you to Banna Leisure Centre for looking after the lads so well and for use of the Facilities.

16 Town Board A Semi-Final 🏐

Our U16 boys took on local rivals Na Gaeil in the Town Board semi-final in a very wet Ballyseedy this evening — and what a game it was.

It was a tough, physical encounter from start to finish, with plenty of big hits, brilliant defending and some excellent scores from both sides. It would be fair to say that both teams produced one of the best games of the season, with the standard of football on show tonight up there with the very best.

Na Gaeil went in at the short whistle with a two-point advantage after a closely fought opening half.

After the break, the contest went up another notch. With just ten minutes remaining, the Mitchels boys found themselves five points adrift, but, just like last week’s game against Dr Crokes, they showed tremendous character and determination to claw their way back into the contest.

With the very last kick of normal time, John Mitchels drew level and sent the game into extra time.

Extra time saw the Mitchels boys find another gear, and they finished strongly to secure a brilliant victory on a scoreline of 4-15 to 4-10.

A massive well done to all the players and mentors from both teams on a fantastic game of football.

We now have a Tralee District Final to look forward to! 👏💚💛
