We are pleased to put the iconic Volcanic Ashes trophy 'up for grabs' when our men take on the MCC from 14-16 August. Set in a base of basaltic rock, the historic trophy contains ash from all recent volcanic eruptions here.

If we win the series, it will remain in our triple glazed case in our cricket museum in Reykjavík, under permanent armed guard.

When our men's national team play the MCC from 14-16 August, the three matches will be played at Tungubakkavöllur, Mosfellsbær. If the MCC beat us, we will ask their squad to pronounce the venue, and if they do not do a satisfactory job, we will declare 'a moral victory'. We will judge them fairly.

Now we move on swiftly next weekend (8th and 9th August) to the Valhalla Cup, our 40 overs tournament, which is played according to a knockout format.

The Hafnarfjörður Hammers celebrate their Íslensk Premier League (ÍPL) triumph in 2026!

Muhammad Younas, captain of the Hafnarfjörður Hammers, was Man of the Match in the Íslensk Premier League ÍPL) final yesterday. He took four key wickets and was also the leading wicket taker across the whole tournament with 22 victims. Thanks go to Circolo.is for sponsoring his prize and providing their delicious sweets.

Our men's national team are next in action in just three weeks against the MCC, the owner's of Lord's and guardians of cricket's laws. It is the biggest series ever held in Iceland. Will the MCC conquer the land of fjords or will they be the frauds from Lord's?
