So why do we seem to grow more through challenges than through good things?

Because good things often comfort us, while challenges confront us.

When everything is going well, we may never discover:

β€œI am stronger than I thought.”
β€œI can survive this.”
β€œI need to change.”
β€œI have been accepting something I shouldn't accept.”
β€œI am capable of building something myself.”
β€œI can love without losing myself.”
β€œI don't have to become bitter because someone hurt me.”

Challenges reveal parts of us that comfort never had to reveal.
