No.7 is a stunning restaurant run by Kick4Life, an award-winning NGO, located in the heart of Maseru, Lesotho's capital city. We offer great food in a friendly environment with stunning views. As a social enterprise, 100% of our profits are reinvested in our charitable work, and under the stewardship of our experienced Head Chef and Restaurant Manager, our staff team includes young people undergoing a structured training program aimed at developing skills for a successful career in the catering industry and the chance to achieve a sustainable livelihood. Also on site, the Kick4Life Hotel & Conference Centre includes 12 beautifully furnished twin and double en-suite bedrooms. We're ideally located for business customers and tourists, and we offer a complete conference service with our various meeting rooms and the stunning No.7 restaurant, which also runs a catering service for a wide selection of events from conferences and team-building days to dinner parties and weddings. As with No.7 the Hotel & Conference Centre is a social enterprise which means all profits go back into changing lives in Lesotho.

Meet 'Makeresemese “December” Matjeketjane. 💙

A goalkeeper for the Kick4Life Women’s Team, December is also gaining valuable workplace experience as a Front of House Server trainee at No.7 Restaurant.

After graduating from the National University of Lesotho with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology, December has found an unexpected way to put her studies into practice.

“Sociology teaches me about people, their different cultures, and languages. So Kick4Life, with its services, can meet all those sociological aspects.”

Through Kick4Life’s Fit4WorkAndPlay programme, her role at No.7 has given her practical work experience while developing skills in customer service, communication and handling different situations. Her stipend has also helped her support her family.

“I can assure you that I am friendly and confident; I can handle conflicts, and I love my job.”

December’s story reminds us that No.7 is about more than what is served on the plate. It is also a place where young people can gain experience, develop their skills and take steps towards their future.
