Traditional Bachata in Riga

Traditional Bachata in Riga

Share

All you wanted to learn about traditional bachata is here, in Riga, Latvia.

One of the biggest paradoxes in social dancing:

The better dancers become... the less they're chasing more moves, and the more they're refining better moments.

Neuroscience offers an interesting explanation. Our brains don't remember experiences based only on what we see, they remember how we feel. Through emotional memory, positive physical and emotional experiences become far more memorable than technical complexity. That's why a partner who makes you feel safe, understood, playful, and connected often leaves a much deeper impression than someone who performs a hundred flashy patterns.

I've had the privilege of learning from some of the greatest dancers in the world, and almost none of them told me that their favorite dances were with the people who knew the flashiest moves.

Instead, they described dancers who listened.
Who adapted.
Who made them feel comfortable.
Who paid attention to the tiny details that no audience notices but every partner immediately feels.

That completely changed the way I practice.

Today, I'd rather invest my time improving creating a safe space, dancing with more clarity, sensitivity, musicality, adjustability than memorizing another complicated pattern.

Because social dancing isn't about winning applause.

It's about creating an experience another human being wants to have again.
The dancers who get remembered aren't always the most spectacular.
They're often the ones who make other people feel spectacular.

👇 I'd love to hear your experience.

Have you ever danced with someone who looked incredible but didn't feel that great?
Or the opposite... someone whose dancing looked simple, but ended up being one of your favorite dances ever?

Share your story in the comments.

And if you'd like to become the kind of dancer people remember months later because of how you make them FEEL, DM "IMMERSION" and I'll send you the details.
