After some weeks of rest... Seniors, U19s & U17s restarted their training session and preparatory phase prior to the league last Monday...

Today, it was the day of the U15s who started their preparation too.

First friendlies resulted in encouraging results. The teams will keep on working hard during this week to prepare for the next friendly games next week.

Our GLADIATOR is HERE TO STAY!!

Although lots of clubs from the island were trying to acquire Max Kirkbride signature, the gladiator decided to continue his development pathway with our club.

Max has been an asset for club Under 17s & U19s in the last seasons, thus making his Senior debut at the very young age of 17 years managing to find the net even at senior level in National Amateur League 2.

Development of young prospects is one of the main aims of Gharghur FC... The club give chance to young players to develop, train, work hard and get minutes on the pitch!

New season 2026/2027... Back in action as from tomorrow

Following the Annual General Meeting in June 2026.... the club teams will start their training sessions in the next days in preparation for the matches scheduled later on in September 2026.

A club/organisation is nothing without a group of volunteers that work hard to make sure that the club is sustainable, bring about new ideas and secure whats positive, thus improving what been done in the past years.

Thanks for your sterling work to our committee members and good luck to all for the season.

After the Annual General Meeting 2026 & moreover the first new committee meeting; the roles of the new committee will be as follows:

The club would like to thank Bernard Grixti for his service and welcome 2 new members Nigel & Jake.

Moreover, during the AGM it was confirmed that the club had finally registered with AIMS - Authority for Integrity in Maltese Sport, OCVO (as a voluntary organisation) & MBR Malta Business Registry.

The committee also confirmed Senior coach & Nursery Headcoach Alan Friggieri for next season.

The committee would like to congratulate both Gharghur candidates Ms. Mariah Meli & Ms. Marilena Gauci that were elected in the last Malta General Election 2026.

It is a pleasure that finally the village has its own persons representing the village & Malta in the Maltese Parliament.

Congratulations to all the other candidates that were elected on the 9th District. It is of utmost importance to unite and work together for the benefit of Gharghur and Malta away from colours and disparity.

Post AGM 2026

During the Annual General Meeting 2026, held last Thursday 4th June 2026 a new committee was elected for next season 2026/2027.

The club would like to welcome Nigel Schembri & Jake Micallef as new commitee members and thank Bernard Grixti for his service in the last year.

Roles in the commitee will be assigned in next Tuesday 16th June meeting.

During the AGM it was decided that the committee will be continuing the works, plastering of walls & dressing rooms, cleaning of pitch and surroundings and fencing immediately; before the players will be back to training at the end of July 2026. All workss to be done under the supervision of the club assigned architect/s further to instructions/recommendation given the health & safety officer risk assessment that was performed last January 2026.
