Within weeks the veggies go from seed, to fully grown plants and are then ready to be picked from the supermarket shelves.  These @Swegreen_ Farms are customisable for different sized supermarkets and can currently be found in Sweden and Germany.  It does require more energy consumption, but these LED lights are super efficient, and the total carbon emissions are much lower as there is zero transportation needed.  Of course this model can’t grow everything, and we don’t want it to replace small independent farms. This is just a great solution for crops that have a short shelf-life like lettuce, herbs, and greens.
