At Dance Rise Studio, ballet will always be an important part of our dancers’ foundation. 🩰
But we also believe that a dancer should not only learn how to dance — they should learn how to move, explore and express themselves.
For our upcoming AODC competition, we challenged our ballet students to step outside their comfort zone and learn a newly choreographed Chinese classical dance.
Why?
Because Chinese classical dance requires a different quality of movement — different use of the hands, body, eyes, rhythm and expression.
And when our ballet dancers learn something different, they don’t lose their ballet foundation.
Instead, they learn to adapt, listen, understand movement and become more versatile dancers.
Ballet teaches discipline, technique and precision.
Chinese dance teaches them another way to tell a story.
Different styles.
Different languages.
One dancer. ❤️
We are excited to see our girls step onto the AODC stage and show you what happens when a dancer dares to try something new.
Dance. Dream. Rise. ✨
