Quinton is a driving force for OCCA and our young girls playing cricket across the district. He is super passionate and gives so much of his time to ensure our young female players are given the best opportunites.

On Monday, we were lucky to host a fantastic Batting Masterclass led by Gary Stead.

The session combined both an in-depth discussion component and practical on-field work, giving our coaches the opportunity to explore key batting principles and then see them in action.

It was awesome to see such great engagement throughout the night, and all of our coaches walked away with plenty of knowledge and ideas. We’re looking forward to seeing these insights put into practice with their teams!

This weekend sees the mighty Tussocks heading South to Invercargill for their final Hawke Cup qualifier.

This is a must win match if the Tussocks are going to be in the running to finish top of the table and advance to the challenge match.

With Otago Country currently tied with South Canterbury, the Tussocks will be looking to lock in maximum points.

This session is primarily designed for 1st XI and age group coaches, but is open to all coaches who are keen to develop their understanding of batting (junior coaches are very welcome —please just note that the content will be pitched at a higher-performance level.)
