How’s this to start your weekend? Avspecs Ltd. wheeling out their latest Mosquito project and firing up those Rolls Royce Merlin’s. We can’t wait to see this flying around Ardmore during its test flight phase.

De Havillands all over the show!

Did you know that the DHC-1 Chipmunk was designed to replace the same company's DH82 Tiger Moth? Huge numbers of cheaply available surplus Tigers at the end of WW2 meant the Chipmunk was never produced in the same numbers, but there are still about 300 flying worldwide, including five privately or syndicate-owned machines here at Ardmore.

WEEKEND FLYING

Saturday is all we can share at this point, and it looks like:

0830 Chipmunk instructional flight
1030 Tiger Moth adventure ride
1330 2 x Tiger Moth formation adventure ride
1430 2 x Chipmunk formation display practice
1600 Chipmunk instructional flight

The weather looks as sweet as a Gipsy Major sounds, so expect plenty more flying action over the long weekend.

Visitor centre is open 1030-1500 Sat and Sun, closed Mon.

Spot the differences!

Paintwork aside, these two Airtrainers look pretty similar. The red one isn’t quite like the yellow one though - or in fact like any other Airtrainers ever built.
