Welcome Jack MacLeod 🔴🔵 Sydenham Rugby Development Officer

Having officially stepped into the role in July, we’re excited to welcome Jack as Sydenham’s new RDO.

Jack’s connection to Sydenham goes right back to his junior rugby days. A Sydenham junior, he has gone on to play 100+ Premier games, captain the Premier side, and represent the Southland Stags, Canterbury B and Crusaders Development.

Jack has also been heavily involved in developing the next generation of Sydenham players, leading our off-season and Academy programmes since 2022.

For the past two seasons, he has also helped lead the rugby programme at Cashmere High School, which has seen some awesome growth while helping reignite the strong connection between Cashmere and Sydenham.

Jack now brings those experiences together in the RDO role, with a focus on developing and supporting our players, coaches, teams and wider rugby community.

A Sydenham person through and through — we’re excited to see Jack take on the role and continue building on the great work already happening across our club.

Don’t worry, Crofty isn’t going too far. He’ll still be heavily involved in the club - supporting, mentoring, volunteering and coaching - but has decided to step back from his formal roles as Head Coach and RDO.

On behalf of everyone at Sydenham, we want to acknowledge the enormous contribution Mark has made to our club.

Crofty’s care, effort and passion for Sydenham and our community is pretty special. A father, coach, mentor, RDO, Blazer Boy, friend and volunteer — he’s worn plenty of hats, always with the goal of making our club and the people within it better.

Thank you, Crofty. We’re incredibly grateful for everything you’ve given to Sydenham, and we look forward to having you continue to play a big part in helping our club and our people grow stronger.

From North to South, East & West, it's great to see so many bus drivers being selected for Representative Teams across the country and beyond.

Wishing all of you the best of luck; the whole club is behind you all!

Following an unfortunate end to the season for our Crazy 88s, all of our Senior teams have now concluded their competitions, with many players moving into representative opportunities.

This season has been a major step up in performance for our U85kf team, and we look forward to seeing the continued development of this team and grade in 2027.

Good luck to all our Sydenham Players who are involved in Rep rugby over the coming weeks!

Tough game over at Sumner for the Colts in some challenging conditions.

U85s kicked off their National Club Cup Campaign against Lincoln Uni, losing the game 24-26 but proceeding through to the next round as there was no opposition front row.
