Neptune Swim Club

The Swimming Otago Short Course Champs are on this weekend at Moana Pool. We have a huge team of 43 swimmers competing.
We really appreciate the help of family members during these meets for various roles. Currently we are still short on timekeepers for all sessions. It would be great if you have a swimmer participating this weekend if you could add your name to the roster for timekeeping. If everyone helps out for one session it makes the meet more successful and enjoyable for everyone.

A massive congratulations to our Neptune swimmers representing Otago Girls High School at the recent NZ secondary School Championships in Auckland.
Well done to Ivy, Issy, Annalise and Hannah.

Also competing for Columba College is Ava Scott who has also had some excellent results.

Congratulations girls. We are super proud of each of you.

Huge news from the pool at NZSS Swimming! NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!

Highlights so far:
🥇 Annalise Miller – Gold in the 13yo 400m Free (a massive 7-sec PB around 4:24!)
🥇 Hannah Ker-Fox – Gold in the 14yo 400m Free (also taking 7 secs off her PB around 4:24!)
🥇 4x50m Medley Relay Gold – Hannah Ker-Fox, Olivia McBride, Izzy Miller & Ivy Weatherston Harvey
🥈 4x100m Free Relay Silver – Hannah Ker-Fox, Olivia McBride, Izzy Miller & Annalise Miller (just missing Gold in a tight finish!)

The whole team is fired up for the rest of the competition. So proud, let’s keep it going!

A huge congratulations to young Neptune swimmer Charlie Nakuda (9) who placed third in the PB Prize winners (males) at last weekends South Otago Sharks Swimming Club swim meet at Mosgiel Pool. Charlie achieved a very impressive 4 personal bests from 4 races with a combined improvement of 21.75 seconds. Great work, Charlie. Keep up the good work 👏🏼

Bronze medal and a new national record for our women's 4x200m freestyle relay 🥉🥹

The quartet of Erika Fairweather, Caitlin Deans, Eve Thomas and Milana Tapper are our first relay to stand on the Commonwealth Games podium since 2010. They took over a second off the national record with their time of 7:51.94 🔥

Another epic swim from Caitlin. Congratulations on a new Otago record and a massive pb. 💫

Erika Fairweather led the way for our Kiwi trio in the women's 1500m freestyle, claiming her second silver medal of these Games in 15:58.97 🥈

Caitlin Deans (16:08.62) put up a great fight to take three seconds off her personal best time en route to placing fifth, while Eve Thomas (16:29.63) took eighth place.

Three Kiwi women in the 400m freestyle final at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, with .fairweather claiming silver (4:02.65) – the first Commonwealth Games medal of her career! took sixth (4:09.45), and .thomas took eighth (4:12.23) 🔥
