Jase – 11.2hh Welsh Arab Cross | 14 years old | Invercargill

This is one of the hardest ads I’ve ever had to write. 💔 We absolutely love Jase, and finding the right home for him is more important to us than simply finding him a home.

Jase is a 14-year-old, 11.2hh Welsh Arab cross who has taught so many young riders their very first steps in the saddle. He has taught kids their first ride off the lead rein and their first canter, and he absolutely loves his job. ❤️

He has done so much with us over the years, including:
🐴 Pony Club
🤠 Cowboy Challenge
🏇 Barrel racing
🏆 Showing
🌿 Road riding
🦘 Jumping
🐎 Riding out alone or in a group

He will happily keep up with the big horses when you want him to, but he is equally happy being a fun, safe little pony for kids.

Jase has good brakes, loves his person, and is safe and sensible. He does not buck, rear or bolt. He has a lovely nature and genuinely enjoys having a job and a young rider to teach.

We had Jase advertised around two years ago but simply couldn’t find the right family for him, so we decided to keep him. Since then, he has gone on to teach another young, nervous rider, who has now gained enough confidence to ride independently and canter on her own and is ready for a bigger horse.

His main quirk is that he really dislikes being led around. He is much happier following an adult, so this is something his new family would need to be comfortable with.

Jase has been such an important part of our lives and has taught a lot of good wee riders. We would love to find him a home where there are a few young riders who can enjoy him, rather than him going from home to home.

We will be very picky about where Jase goes. He deserves a family who understands how special he is and will love him for many years to come.

We are based in Invercargill.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to pop in here and ask who is helping horses in New Zealand, so many horror stories online at the moment and no one knows who to call, spca can not help or if its to hard just wont help , MPI will only help if there is alot of horses in needs, so who is helping? who do you turn to? if you post online asking for help you get slammed by the horsey world if you do nothing you are slammed for standing by, who do we ask for help???????
