🏀⛹KIWIHOOPS 🏀🏀 GIRLS GOT GAME⛹️‍

Holiday hoops were a hit and what a great time it was! It was fantastic to see so many kids getting stuck in, learning new skills, and having heaps of fun on the court.
A huge thank you to our new Program Lead, Susie, who did an amazing job running the show. Thanks also to her awesome helpers Charlotte, Jaxon and Jake, who were brilliant with the kids. 👏
Want to keep the fun going? We'll be running 4 weekly sessions on Sundays. Keep your eyes peeled for the registration form, coming soon!
Check us out at Archer Stadium, Gore.

🏀 MINIBALL WEEK 2 🏀

SMALL REFEREE CHANGE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Week one is always a bit of finding our feet — thanks for your patience, whānau!

A few important notes for this week:

🆕 New this year: Y3&4 boys and girls are now playing separately. BOTH girls grades play on TUESDAY.

📋 Before you head in:
😬 Mouthguards are mandatory
💍 Girls — please remove all jewelry
👕 We'd love to see teams looking uniform on court — we know this can be tricky for combined school teams, so bibs are available to wear over the top during games if needed
⏰ Arrive 5 minutes early — games can run ahead of schedule if everyone's there and ready

🕐 On game day:
Practice starts at the scheduled time on the draw — the 8-minute practice, two 12-minute halves, and half-time break all fit within your team's 40-minute slot
Supported by the ESBA controller and team coaches

🙋 Duty: Your team is on bench duty this game — please have 2 people ready to go.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

See you all on the court! 🏀

🏀Helpful apps for coaches🏀

Coachmate is an app that BBNZ partnered with to provide the basketball-specific content. These have great trainings for all ages.

Sub assist is an automated player substitution app designed for youth and junior sports coaches

On our website we also have some specific training programs for the miniball ages.

How cool are these boys. Playing so well in their Marauawai team led by our own Sean and Nick. Well done for making nationals and good luck at the nationals tournament!!

🏀 MINIBALL WEEK 1 🏀

It's that time of year again! 📆

This year we're excited to have Y3&4 boys and girls in their own separate competition — we're hoping this gives the girls even more room to enjoy the game.

As always, we've got some great junior referees taking the court this season. Please be kind and respectful to them — they're still learning! Our Referee Development Officer, Sherri, is working hard with them behind the scenes to make sure they're set up to do a great job.

As a referee, if you can't make it, it's your job to find someone to cover for you but please let me know!! Thank you ☺️

If you have any issues or concerns on the day, please speak with our controller on the floor — either Sherri or one of our committee members will be present.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me!

Bring on the season! 🧡🖤
