Although Antiques Roadshow isn't racing at One NZ Godzone this year, Kim has joined the Marokopa Munters for Chapter 12 (Pursuit) in Marlborough. For anyone interested in dot watching, the tracking link is in the shared post below. You will have to click on Menu, and then select Pursuit Teams to be able to track them (team 61).
Race start for One NZ Godzone has been changed to 4pm, start location is Ngakuta Bay - tracking link below

If you see a comment with a link to a tracking website that looks different, don't click on it! The one above is the only real one!

Dan (our ever suffering support crew for Antiques Roadshow) supported 2 teams at the recent Marokopa Munter 24 Hour Adventure Race. Not only was he chasing after us and pampering to our needs (feeding us, getting gear out, making sure we remember things), he was also supporting for Weekend Retreat (Mike, Katherine, Jared, and Craig, who placed 4th in the mixed team category!). A wee bit of a logistical challenge (especially moving bikes between TAs when you can't take all of them at once!) but it worked pretty well (except for being a bit late to the last TA with Weekend Retreat's paddling gear.....whoops!).
Heres what a large motorhome looks like when packed full of two teams' gear!

In the immortal words of Kenny Rogers - you have to know when to fold 'em.
The team decided they didn't have the time remaining to make the next two bike rides and 2 hour compulsory sleep and still make it to the river on time to start the final packraft by 7am so have pulled out of Marokopa Munter 24 Hour Adventure Race
Hot soup and a sleep!
Plan to join up and do the white water packraft section tomorrow morning!

Hauling up the big hill at the end of the monster packraft/trek/rogaine - the team is pretty tired and haven't slept yet - 3 pretty big bike rides to go (2.5-3 hours each!) and a couple of rogaines, and the final white water packraft down the Manganui River and the Waitara River.
Some decisions will have to be made about the rogaines as there isn't enough time for them to do everything and still do the packraft section (the teams have to be on the water by 7am or they must miss this section and bike to the end) - let's see how they go!

On the last half of the trek back down to the lake. The Marokopa Munter 24 Hour Adventure Race Race Directors were expecting the first teams to reach the lake by around 7am, but this screenshot was at 8am and there is still a way to go! The teams all are required to take a 2 hour sleep break at some point in the race..... so don't be surprised if the trackers don't move at some point.

As the sun is beginning to lighten the sky, the crew is currently tracking 5th - getting close to the halfway point of the big trek (the team is number 115). How are they feeling? Normally everyone feels better as the sun comes up.....
Let's see what surprises the Marokopa Munter 24 Hour Adventure Race team have lying in wait (there's normally something)!
