Some highs and lows in yesterday’s game. The highs being that we got over the line 20-7, Laizel and Quinn receiving their Caps, and Ollie having a great day with the boot, slotting 4 from 4, including a beauty from 40plus metres out. Lastly, great to hold onto the Rick T Francis Memorial Shield for another week.

It was awesome having the crew from Maori TV to broadcast the game live. The ground looked professional with the setup. It was also fun watching Dean having to do his interview, although I’m not sure the camera made him look 15 years younger as they promised 😂.

And then there were the lows: too many handling errors, and two heads knocks that saw both Laizel and Quinn go off 😢. Wishing you boys the best and hope to see you both back on the paddock soon🤞.

It’s great to see our St John’s 1st XV being recognised on a National platform for their performance on the weekend against Feilding. Well done boys, you have set the standard for the rest of the season.
