💛🖤 A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING COMMITTEE! 🖤💛

As we wrap up the season, we want to shine a massive spotlight on the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make Morrinsville AFC happen.

Our committee are all volunteers, and for these guys, it’s certainly not just a seasonal job. For some, it’s a daily grind!

📧 Answering emails and messages
⚽ Keeping up with NZ Football, WaiBOP, MPDC & FriendlyManager communications
🤝 Building relationships and securing sponsorship
🛡️ Managing insurance and all the unexpected things that come with it
💰 Paying the bills and keeping the finances moving
⚽️ Gear stocktake, cleaning & coordinating repairs
🪪 Keeping up to date with legal requirements under the Incorporated Societies Act
📝 Applying for grants and chasing funding
🏡 Building and strengthening our place within the wider community
🖌️ Line markings, feild maintenance
📋 Planning, organising, problem-solving… and about a million other things that nobody sees!

They give up evenings, weekends, family time and countless hours because they care about our club, our players and our community.

So to our wonderful 2026 Committee, thank you. Thank you for the work people see, and even more so, the work they don’t see.

We are incredibly grateful for everything you do to keep our little club moving forward. 🙌🏼⚽️

Most of our committee members are camera shy, but you know who you are, your community thanks you. We couldn’t do it without you. 🖤💛

🏆 PAUL’S TROPHY | 2026

Donated by the Van de Vorle family, the Paul’s Trophy has been a special part of our club since 1985 and has been awarded to many incredible people over the years.

People don’t get involved in our club for recognition. They do it because they’re passionate, they’re excited about football, and they genuinely want to see our football community thrive. 💛

This year, we are incredibly proud to present the Paul’s Trophy to Joy Lopes, our Grants & Funding Coordinator.

Joy’s contribution to MAFC has gone far beyond simply writing grant applications. She has:

⚽ Raised more than $50,000 for our club
📱 Grown our social media presence
🏆 Advocating & coordinated for our clubs presence at tournaments
🤝 Built relationships with sponsors, suppliers and local businesses
💬 Tackled the tough conversations when they needed to happen
💪 And put in countless hours behind the scenes to keep things moving forward.

A huge amount of what happens at our club simply wouldn’t happen without people willing to put their hand up, get stuck in and make things happen.

Thank you for your passion, your energy, your persistence and the ridiculous number of hours you pour into making our club better. All the best with your next venture 🫡

⚽️ POSITIVE VIBES TOURNAMENT ⚽️

What a day for our 8 MAFC teams at the Positive Vibes WaiBOP Football Tournament! 🖤💛

The wind was as high as the spirits, but that didn’t stop our players from getting out there, giving it their all and having a whole lot of fun! 🙌⚽️

With 170 teams attending, it was a huge event and incredibly well organised. A massive effort by the organisers to put together such a great day for the kids. 👏

A big THANK YOU to all our amazing coaches, managers and parents who made the day possible. From getting the kids there, keeping them organised, cheering from the sidelines and everything in between, we couldn’t do it without you! 🖤💛
