From first cartwheels to confident tumblers — we grow strong bodies and even stronger kids. Currently a non competitive club. Instructed/coached for ages 5-15.

Matamata’s local recreational gymnastics club, proudly affiliated with Gymnastics New Zealand and following the GNZ Incentive Awards programme. Instructed/coached by volunteering parents. Held on Thursday nights for school terms 2-3. In Headon Stadium at the end of Western Street Matamata.

🌊🐠 ARGOS UNDER THE SEA COMPETITION 🐠🌊

On the weekend our artistic gymnasts had so much fun competing at the ARGOS Gymnastics Club Under The Sea competition! 🤸‍♀️🌊

We are so proud of all of our gymnasts for getting out there, performing their routines and giving it their best. Competitions are a great opportunity to put all that hard work and training into practice, challenge yourself and, of course, have fun along the way!

Thank you to coaches Kayde and Kenzi for their guidance and support on the day.

Well done to all of our amazing Matamata gymnasts who competed — we loved watching you out there! 💙👏🤸‍♀️

🏆🌊 ARGOS UNDER THE SEA – TRAMPOLINE & TUMBLING RESULTS! 🌊🏆

What a fantastic day our Matamata Gymnastics Club athletes had competing at the ARGOS Gymnastics Club Under The Sea competition yesterday!

We are incredibly proud of all of our trampolinists and tumblers who got out there and represented our club, and we have some amazing results to celebrate! 🎉👏

⚠️ TONIGHT’S GYMNASTICS SESSIONS CANCELLED

Unfortunately, due to a high number of our coaches being unwell, we don’t have enough coaches available to safely run tonight’s sessions.

For the health and safety of our gymnasts and coaches, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s sessions.

We’re really sorry for the late notice and any inconvenience this may cause. 💙

Thank you for your understanding, and we will see everyone back at the gym next week! 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️

🤸‍♀️ Artistic Gymnastics highlights! ✨

Our Artistic Gymnastics team had such a fun weekend at the Hamilton City Gymnastics GFA competition, and we loved watching them take to the floor and show what they can do! 🧡

There were some fantastic routines, plenty of smiles and lots of moments that made us incredibly proud. 👏

A special shout-out to our two Level 1 girls, Pia and Tilly, who competed together at just 6 years old! 🤩 We absolutely loved seeing them having such a great time and embracing the whole experience with their fun and positive attitudes.

We were so proud of all of our gymnasts and the way they represented Matamata Gymnastics Club this weekend.

Across our trampoline and double mini events, our team brought home some fantastic results:

🥇 Freya & Charlotte P both took home a 1st place 🌟
🥉 Kenzie P & Cora both achieved a 3rd place
⭐ Isla & Charlie T both achieved a 5th place

🌊 Final Reminder – Under the Sea ARGOS Recreational Competition 🐠

This is your final reminder for the Under the Sea ARGOS Recreational Competition, hosted by ARGOS Tauranga on Sunday 30 August.

We already have a fantastic group of Matamata Gymnastics Club gymnasts entered, and we’d love to see even more of our members join us for this fun, friendly event!

The competition offers:
🤸 Gymnastics
🤸‍♀️ Tumbling
🤸 Trampoline

This is a great opportunity for gymnasts to build confidence, gain competition experience, and have fun in a supportive environment.

⏰ Entries must be submitted this weekend, so if your gymnast would like to take part and you haven’t let us know yet, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

Welcome back to Term 3! 🤸💙

This term is especially exciting as we’ve expanded our Assistant Coach team! Joining Charlotte, Ana and Charlie (who was absent from this photo), we’d like to give a big welcome to Cora, Roisin and Olivia as they begin their journey through our internal training and mentoring.

One of the things we’re most proud of as a volunteer-run club is developing coaches from within. Our senior gymnasts already know our club, our values and our younger members, making them wonderful role models. Through mentoring and hands-on experience, they build confidence, leadership and coaching skills while helping inspire the next generation of gymnasts.

We’re excited to watch all six of our Assistant Coaches continue to grow this term. Please give them a wave and say hello when you see them around the gym – they’re doing an amazing job! 💙
