Northland waters and a Fatboy lure💥🎣

This fish couldn’t resist, and it made for a catch to remember. There’s nothing like a day on the water, a lure you trust, and that moment the line goes tight. These Mahi Mahi (dolphin fish) have stunning colors and they taste amazing!👌🤙

Alot of people think to catching Kingy's you either use Livebait or classic fast mechanical jigging. Here proving that slow pitch jigging is also very effective, getting kingfish excited to attack the lure. I'm using a Vexed Fishing Dhu slow 80gram jig from in the shallows at only 8 meters was such a intense but fun scrap on my light setup!! 🎣🎣

Caught this ol dog using a Hayabusa Fishing NZ size 8 circle hook paired with XBraid NZ full-drag mainline also fluorocarbon leader just on two years ago now! He was the first 20lb-plus snapper for new boat, so I had to get him skin-mounted. The process took a while, but it was worth it in the end! 🤙🤙

I'm using the Hayabusa Jack Eye Funemaki 180gram jig it's the all round slayer for different species of fish including one of my favorite eating ol Johnny Deez...Yeew!!🤙🤙

Such an amazing time out on the boat with some epic weather along with beautiful scenery and a smorgasbord of tasty table fish all caught on lures and I appreciate being out on the water, It's my happy place and super stoked Tangaroa provided a mean feed so always throw first fish back! 😎🤙

It's coming up to that epic time of year again when the spring Kingis round up their favorite snacks right up into harbors and estuaries also seen them cruising with schools of snapper in less than 2 meters of water and caught this one using vexed slow pitch lures 🎣😎

Testing out the Samurai X-Tracta Rod PE3 (180g) and Hayabusa sliders today. 🎣

This setup feels perfect in the hand. The rod does all the work pulsing the slider along the bottom with the sensitivity of Xbraid Jigman Ultra PE2.5 - 45lb so well balanced combo and plenty of low-down power when you need to turn a fish away from the reef 👌

You could've walked across that bait ball.

Every drop with the Palms Slow Blatt Cast Wide 40g Akakin colour Jig got plenty of attention and would get smashed soon as it hit the water but honestly, watching that massive school of mackerel lite up on the surface like that was nearly as good as the bite itself.

Days like this are what it's all about with beautiful scenery — good mates, bent rods, stocking up while there's plenty of bait everywhere with smoking a few of these oily treats as well 🤙🎣
