We have built a UCI standard track for our club and local community at Ian Galloway Park, Karori. The facility is already a destination for riders from all around the Wellington region and membership is growing. We train and race, with ability-based motos, suitable for riders of all ages. Thanks to Kapiti BMX for hosting the 3rd round of our Interclubs today! A cold and windy morning, we'll done to all the riders, parents, supporters and club volunteers for coming out!
Was great to see a solid turn out from Capital today, taking home the interclub trophy! We'll see you next Winter to challenge for the Handlebar Trophy again Hutt Valley Thunderbolts BMX Club and Kapiti BMX club

Get ready to ride! 🚴♂️ The 2026–2027 BMX Season at Capital BMX kicks off with our Season Opener on Sunday, 13th September at Ian Galloway Park! 🚴♂️
Whether you're trying BMX for the first time or setting a new gate record, everyone is welcome!
📅 Schedule of Events:
9:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Have a Go (FREE): Club bikes, helmets, and gloves provided! Just wear long sleeves, long pants and enclosed shoes/trainers.
10:00 AM | Gates: Open practice for all riders.
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Sqorz Gate Wars: Test your speed and chase the prize! (Transponder required)
12:30 PM | Racing: Everyone welcome!

🚩 SIX Capital riders took on the BMX World Champs — and what a week it was! 🚩
Aella, Kiera, Spencer, Otis, Jack and Jamie raced for New Zealand at the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Brisbane last month, going up against more than 2,600 of the world's best from 40+ countries — through wild weather, a cancelled elite-final day, and no shortage of jersey swaps with riders from around the globe.
Huge congratulations to all of you. We're so proud of how you represented Capital BMX on the world stage 🥹

Sunday Club Day ... TRACK UPDATE 🚧
We need to complete repairs to Straight One after the heavy rain last week - Straights 3 & 4 will be open whilst the team undertake work. If you can lend a hand, please wear gumboots and bring along some gloves!
We’ll keep everyone updated as repairs progress - and we can bring Straight 1 back for riding again soon!

Sorry folks! No club day tomorrow. We've had some awful weather and our track is a bit flooded! Hope to see you 2nd August.
Cheers to our members who have been to check drains, and work to clear them, but its gonna take some time. (Yes, the white stuff is hail!)
