As a dad, I believe that leading by example isn’t just about being healthy and present, it’s also about continuing to pursue the things that light you up.

Since becoming a father, I allowed one of my biggest dreams (my music) to slip into the background.

I know from experience that we can turn things around at any stage of life. So this year I'm putting more energy back into performing and sharing my music.

I’m stoked to be playing an original music gig at G16 on Friday the 23rd, alongside some awesome local artists!

When I was 16, my dad told me I’d never make it as a full-time musician;
“There’s always someone better than you. You need a plan B.”

I carried that belief for years.

That comment around earnings and “paying bills” took me through hospitality, personal training, , business coaching… all the way to fatherhood.

Throughout that journey, music never left (until 4 years ago), but it always came second.

Today I performed at the Kapiti Beach Markets.
Not for the money.
Not for validation.
But because taking responsibility for your dreams is part of being a good dad.

I don’t want my son to hear “don’t try.”

I also don’t want him to hear “follow your dreams” if I’m not. (That’s probably worse!)

I want him to see a father who goes for it. Feels the fear and does it anyway.

Participating in life by doing the thing that lights him up.

This is me rebuilding momentum.
One song. One gig. One brave choice at a time.
