🌲 WFC Disc Golf 🇳🇿 Bottle Lake Blitz with special guest… 🏆 Sarah Wadsworth 3× World Champion & World Record Distance Holder!

🌳 HOLE 12 — THE GAP OF DOOM!

PAR 3 | A-Tee: 80m / 262ft | B-Tee: 52m / 170ft 📍 Bottle Lake Disc Golf Course — Christchurch

Think you’re getting comfortable in the forest? Bottle Lake has other ideas! 😅🌲🥏

🎯 Kelvin & Sarah — A-Tee: Your first challenge is just 10 metres in front of you… and it’s arguably the hardest part of the whole hole!

The gap is incredibly narrow, demanding a precise, controlled shot right from the tee. Clip the wrong tree and your disc could end up anywhere!

Once you’ve negotiated that opening gap, you still need to work your way through the dense forest 🌳 — but strangely, the rest of the hole feels a little less stressful once that first shot is out of the way!

🎯 Maree — B-Tee: At 52m, her shorter tee offers a less intimidating start, without quite the same pressure of that opening gap.

But nobody gets to switch off just yet…

🚫 WATCH THE LEFT-HAND OB!

Just before the basket, the out-of-bounds area is waiting to catch anyone who gets their line wrong.

The recipe for success? 🥏 Clear the gap. 🌲 Find your line through the forest. 🎯 Finish with control.

Par or better is the goal — but at Bottle Lake, even a simple-looking Par 3 can turn into a serious adventure!

🏆 And with Sarah Wadsworth joining us for this forest challenge, there’s plenty more to see in the Bottle Lake Blitz!

🌳 HOLE 11 — DEEP IN THE FOREST!
PAR 3 | A-Tee: 84m / 275ft | B-Tee: 64m / 209ft
📍 Bottle Lake Disc Golf Course — Christchurch

Welcome to the forest! 🌲😅🥏
By Hole 11, we’re well and truly surrounded by trees, and finding a clean line is becoming a serious challenge.

🎯 Kelvin & Sarah — A-Tee: 84 metres to navigate, with trees everywhere and prickly OB bushes waiting to the left. One wrong kick and you’re suddenly in trouble! 🌿🚫
🎯 Maree — B-Tee: a shorter 64-metre shot with a slightly better line, but that left-hand OB danger is still very much in play.
And then comes the real challenge…

🌳 TREE TRUNKS. EVERYWHERE.
Your job is to keep weaving through the gaps, avoid the wrong tree and hope your disc doesn’t get sent miles off-line by an unlucky kick.

Find one of those clear fairways through the trees, park your disc close to the basket and give yourself a chance at par or better.
Easy to say… much harder to do! 😂

💪 Accuracy over power. Patience over panic.
At Bottle Lake, sometimes the smartest shot is simply the one that stays on track!

🏆 And with a 3× World Champion on the card, there’s no better company to tackle these technical challenges with!

🌳 HOLE 10 — CURVE RIGHT OR GET CAUGHT!

PAR 3 | A-Tee: 77m / 252ft | B-Tee: 50m / 164ft 📍 Bottle Lake Disc Golf Course — Christchurch

Time to shape up a shot and trust the line! 🥏🔥

Kelvin and Sarah are taking on the longer A-Tee, while Maree plays from the shorter B-Tee — but don’t let the shorter distance fool you. This hole still demands precision!

🎯 The mission? Get around to the right and find the basket.

There are two main ways to attack this fairway:

↪️ A significantly understable backhand that turns right and glides around the corner.

💪 A reliable sidearm/forehand to shape that same right-hand curve with control.

Sounds straightforward, right? 😅

🌲 THINK AGAIN!

Trees are waiting to stop you in your tracks if you choose the wrong line. A small mistake can leave you scrambling for a recovery shot instead of setting up an easy birdie opportunity.

This is where shot shaping beats raw distance. Find the gap, commit to the curve and give yourself a chance at the basket!

🔥 Three different throws, one tricky fairway — and a world-class guest joining us for the ride!

👀 Keep following the Bottle Lake Blitz as Sarah joins us for the rest of the round. More tight lines and tree trouble are on the way!

🌳 HOLE 9 — WELCOME TO THE TUNNELS!

PAR 3 | A-Tee: 81m / 265ft | B-Tee: 55m / 180ft
📍 Bottle Lake Disc Golf Course — Christchurch

And now the Bottle Lake Blitz enters a whole new phase! 🌲🥏

For the first time, we’re joined on the card by Sarah Wadsworth, with Sarah and Kelvin taking on the longer A-Tee, while Maree plays from the shorter B-Tee.

Hole 9 is the beginning of a run of tight, narrow, tree-shaped holes where simply throwing as far as possible isn’t necessarily the answer.

🎯 Putter or midrange?
If you’ve got the distance and control, these are definitely worth considering.

The goal is to find the clean line, keep the disc under control and avoid letting the trees decide where your next shot is going! 🌳😅

🚫 There’s also OB lurking on both the left and right, making accuracy even more important.

Thankfully, we managed to stay out of trouble this time around! 🙌

With the addition of Sarah to the card, things are about to get even more interesting…

🔥 Long-distance firepower meets technical tree golf!

👀 Keep watching as Sarah joins us for the rest of the Bottle Lake Blitz — there are plenty more tight lines coming!

🔥 HOLE 8 — THE ISLANDS OF DOOM!

PAR 4/5 | 162m / 531ft
📍 Bottle Lake Disc Golf Course — Christchurch

Now we reach one of the most stressful holes on the entire course! 😳🥏

The tee shots give us two completely different looks.

🎯 Kelvin’s tee requires a stable distance driver and a trusting, controlled curve.

🎯 Maree’s tee offers a more direct look, with a nice straight distance drive up the middle.

But the second shot is where the real nightmare begins! 😬

🌲 The basket is buried right in the heart of the trees, with branches seriously blocking the natural attack line.

Hit the wrong line and you’re almost certain to find OB. 🚫

But thread that perfect gap?

🎯 Now you can only cross your fingers and hope your disc lands safely on one of the little islands tucked amongst the trees.

This hole is NOT for the faint-hearted!

🔥 And then came a pretty special moment…

🏆 Kelvin recorded his FIRST EVER birdie on Hole 8!

But he wasn’t the only one…

🥏 Maree also carded a birdie, with her layout having a Par 5, making her score an equally impressive birdie!

So for both of us to walk away with birdies on this hole? That’s a big deal! 💪

🌟 AND NOW WE’VE GOT A SPECIAL GUEST!

We’re finally joined by Sarah Wadsworth — three-time World Champion and three-time Distance Champion! 🏆🏆🏆

Sarah will be joining us for the remainder of the Bottle Lake Blitz, so keep watching to see how she handles these seriously tricky holes!

🔥 HOLE 7 — NOT FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED!

PAR 5 | A-Tee: 261m / 856ft | B-Tee: 208m / 682ft
📍 Bottle Lake Disc Golf Course — Christchurch

Now we’re getting into seriously long territory! 😳🥏

Hole 7 is a monster — and Kelvin has the additional challenge of starting from the longer A-Tee, while Maree gets the shorter B-Tee.

🎯 Kelvin’s opening drive needs to travel a serious distance while threading through a line of trees, with the goal of landing out in the sandy fairway beyond the Mando tree.

🎯 Maree’s tee is positioned right beside the Mando tree, so that particular obstacle isn’t really in play for her — but she still has a huge amount of fairway to conquer!

Once both discs finally make it into the open…

🌲 THE CHALLENGE ISN’T OVER!

The fairway demands continued accuracy, with OB lines on both the left and right and plenty of seriously grabby trees waiting to turn a good shot into a disaster.

Every throw needs to stay on track.

And then comes the approach… 😬

🚨 THE FINISHING TRAP!

Right in front of the natural attack line sits a hazard bunker, forcing you to think carefully about how aggressively you want to attack the basket.

And surrounding the putting circles is another OB line, meaning even getting close isn’t enough — you’ve still got to finish the hole with control.

🔥 261 metres of Par 5 pressure.
🔥 Trees. OB. Sand. Hazard.
🔥 And absolutely nowhere to switch off.

This hole is NOT for the faint-hearted.

Par is an achievement.
Birdie? Now you’re asking for something special! 🥏💪

👀 The Bottle Lake Blitz continues… and we’re only getting deeper into the trees!
