HOLE 12 — Pick The Gap, Then Let It Fly 🌳🚀
Hamilton Park continues its run of longer scoring holes, with another Par 4 that rewards players who can combine accuracy and distance.
The catch?
First, you’ve got to escape the trees.
🌳 Initial tree line guarding the tee shot
🚀 Long fairway beyond
🎯 Distance control rewarded
🚫 Road and driveway right = OB
🚫 Railway corridor left = OB
🥏 Two good shots create a birdie opportunity
For Kelvin & Maree, the opening drive is all about finding the correct gap through the line of trees.
Hit it cleanly and the fairway suddenly opens up, inviting players to unleash a long approach toward the basket.
Miss the line and you’re immediately scrambling to recover position.
Thankfully, once beyond the trees, this hole is one of the more straightforward challenges on the course.
There are no hidden fairways.
No long grass jungles.
No impossible angles.
Just good ex*****on.
The biggest danger comes from drifting too far either side.
The road and driveway on the right remain out of bounds, while the railway corridor on the left can quickly turn a good hole into a costly one.
🚀 Clear the trees.
🎯 Advance the fairway.
🥏 Attack the green.
With the generous Par 4, smart golf is often enough to secure a birdie look, while a comfortable par remains available for those who stay in position.
After some of Hamilton Park’s more chaotic holes, Hole 12 feels refreshingly honest:
Throw the line. Throw the distance. Collect the score.

HOLE 11 — Precision In The Open 🎯🚀
This time we’re playing the Disc Golf South “Out At The Trout” layout, teeing off beside the big tree on the opposite side of the previous basket.
Unfortunately, the opening drive didn’t make the final reel…
But don’t worry — there’s still plenty of disc golf to enjoy.
🚀 Long approaches on display
🎯 Distance control rewarded
🌿 Open fairway encourages attack
🥏 Birdie very achievable
🌳 Out At The Trout tournament layout
With a generous Par 4 and an open fairway stretching ahead, this hole is all about controlled distance and setting up the next shot.
Rather than battling thick rough or navigating impossible gaps, players are challenged to throw multiple quality shots in succession.
Kelvin & Maree both had opportunities to showcase long, accurate throws as they worked their way toward the basket.
No hero lines.
No miracle gaps.
Just good old-fashioned disc golf.
Throw it long.
Throw it straight.
Throw it again.
Players who can consistently approach from distance will find birdie very achievable here, while everyone else still has plenty of room to secure a comfortable par.
The path running down the left side exists, but for most players it shouldn’t come into play unless things go seriously off-script.
After some of the technical and overgrown challenges earlier in the round, Hole 11 feels like a chance to relax, trust your discs, and enjoy watching them fly.
🚀 Big shots.
🎯 Smart placement.
🥏 Rewarding golf.

HOLE 10 — Roll The Dice 🎲🥏
Sometimes a disc golf hole forces you to throw a shot you rarely practice.
Hole 10 did exactly that.
With two large guardian trees standing directly in the way of the preferred flight paths, Kelvin & Maree found themselves considering a shot that doesn’t often make it into their game plans…
🛞 The backhand roller.
🌳 Two major trees blocking the fairway
🛞 Roller line becomes tempting
🚀 Long Par 4 requiring placement and distance
🎯 Birdie available for those who execute
The challenge isn’t simply getting past the trees.
It’s deciding how.
A traditional air shot brings the guardians into play immediately, while a roller has the potential to sneak underneath the obstacles and race into the open fairway beyond.
The only problem?
Neither Kelvin nor Maree regularly practise rollers 😅
So naturally, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to give them a crack.
Some rollers rolled.
Some rollers… had other ideas.
That’s part of the fun.
Once safely beyond the initial obstacles, players are rewarded with a much more open fairway and the opportunity to attack the basket with a long approach shot.
Execute the drive and birdie becomes very realistic.
Fail to escape the opening trees and you’re immediately playing catch-up.
This is one of those holes that rewards creativity just as much as distance.
🛞 Try something different.
🌳 Miss the guardians.
🚀 Advance down the fairway.
🎯 Give yourself a chance.
Hamilton Park continues to show off its variety, moving from technical rough holes to open fairways and now strategic shot-shaping challenges.

HOLE 9 — Back To Bombs 🚀🌳
After surviving Hamilton Park’s overgrown wilderness, Kelvin & Maree finally emerge back into the open.
The long grass isn’t quite as threatening, the fairway is easier to read, and for the first time in a while, players can actually see where they’re trying to throw.
🌳 One key tree blocking the direct route
🚀 Big tee shot encouraged
⬆️ Slight uphill gradient
🎯 Birdie available with good ex*****on
🥏 Shape matters more than power
The challenge here is simple:
A large tree sits directly in the way of the straight route to the basket, forcing players to shape a shot around the obstacle rather than attacking head-on.
For some, that means a smooth sidearm.
For others, it’s a controlled backhand that drifts around the guardian tree before pushing up the hill toward the target.
Get the angle right and you’ll be walking up the fairway with a genuine birdie look.
Miss it?
The tree is more than happy to send your disc somewhere unexpected.
After the tight technical chaos of Holes 3–8, Hole 9 feels like a breath of fresh air. You can finally open up the shoulders a little and trust your disc to fly.
But don’t let the cleaner fairway fool you.
The uphill finish means distance control is still important, and the tree demands respect from every player stepping onto the tee.
🌳 Beat the tree.
🚀 Trust the flight.
🎯 Earn the birdie.
Hamilton Park’s field holes have a completely different personality to the rough section, and Hole 9 marks a welcome return to strategic shot shaping rather than survival golf.

HOLE 8 — One Last Dance With The Rough 🌿🎯
The end of Hamilton Park’s overgrown gauntlet is finally in sight.
After battling hidden tee pads, relentless rough, and enough long grass to lose a small disc golf shop, Kelvin & Maree arrive at Hole 8 — a shorter hole that invites aggression… but still demands respect.
🎯 Ace run distance
🌳 Trees blocking multiple flight paths
🌿 Long grass still hungry for discs
🥏 Placement and commitment required
At just 48m, this is the first hole in a while that tempts players to go straight at the chains.
The catch?
There are still plenty of trees standing between you and glory.
Hit the gap cleanly and you could be staring at a drop-in birdie… or even hearing chains for an ace.
Miss your line and you’ll likely be ricocheting into the rough, hoping your disc hasn’t disappeared into the grass for good.
This is one of those classic risk-versus-reward holes:
🔥 Run the basket and chase the ace.
🧠 Play smart and secure the birdie.
🌿 Hit a tree and prepare for an unexpected adventure.
After the challenges of the previous holes, it’s nice to see a basket that’s actually within striking distance from the tee — even if Hamilton Park isn’t quite ready to make things easy yet.
Hole 8 feels like the final exam of the rough section:
Can you stay focused long enough to cash in one last birdie before escaping back to civilisation?

HOLE 7 — Smart Golf Gets Rewarded 🌿🥏
We’re still deep in Hamilton Park’s wild side.
Like the previous few holes, Kelvin & Maree are playing the Disc Golf South “Out At The Trout” tournament layout, which means the first challenge is once again finding the tee pad.
📍 Hidden tee location
🌿 Long grass everywhere
➡️ Fairway bending right
🥏 Sidearm or understable backhand preferred
🎯 Generous birdie opportunity available
Once you’ve found the tee, it’s time to shape a drive that pushes both forward and right.
For sidearm players, this is a great opportunity to attack the fairway.
For backhand players, a reliable understable disc that turns gently right can achieve the same result.
Hit the line and you’ll be rewarded with an inviting approach toward the basket sitting in the distance amongst the recently culled trees.
Thankfully, the more open surroundings make the target easier to spot than some of the previous holes 👀
But don’t get too comfortable.
🌿 The long grass is still lurking.
🌳 Early mistakes still get punished.
🥏 Disc searches are never far away.
The good news?
This is a relatively generous Par 4.
Play smart, stay in position, and birdie is very achievable. Try to force the issue and suddenly you’re battling to save par.
This hole rewards patience, placement, and course management far more than pure distance.
🧠 Smart golf wins.
🎯 Good placement creates birdies.
🌿 Long grass creates stories.

HOLE 6 — River’s Edge Roulette 🌿🌊
Things get slightly easier here…
Well, at least finding the tee pad does.
After the scavenger hunt of the previous holes, Kelvin & Maree are relieved to find Hole 6 sitting beside one of Hamilton Park’s popular walking paths. The challenge from there, however, is far from over.
🌿 Long grass waiting to swallow discs
🌳 Trees and branches guarding every route
🚶 Shared area with park users
🚫 Path and beyond left = OB
🌊 Don’t let your disc drift toward the river
The mission is simple:
Find a clean line through the obstacles, push deep into the fairway, and set up a birdie opportunity.
The reality?
Every branch seems determined to knock your disc off course.
Hit the gap perfectly and you might be rewarded with one of the more satisfying birdies on the course.
Catch a tree kick and you’re suddenly searching through long grass wondering where things went wrong.
Honestly, on this hole…
🥏 Birdie feels lucky.
✅ Par feels good.
😅 Finding your disc feels even better.
The biggest mistake here is leaking left. The walking path and everything beyond it is out of bounds, helping keep players safely away from the river’s edge.
This is another hole where patience and smart golf often beat aggressive hero shots.
🧠 Stay in the fairway.
🌿 Stay out of the rough.
🥏 Keep your favourite disc in the bag.
