🔥 WHAT A WAY TO FINISH THE SEASON!🔥
Our Nautalis wrestlers headed to Auckland for the National Championships this weekend and came home with some awesome results — from 5th place finishes right through to NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!🏆🤼
Every athlete who stepped onto the mat should be proud.
There has been a huge amount of work put in behind the scenes this season — training, learning, losing, improving, showing up tired, pushing through hard sessions and continuing to get better.
Nationals was a chance to put all of that work to the test, and our wrestlers absolutely stepped up.
A huge congratulations to the entire team. 💪
🔥 MATCH OF THE WEEKEND — LIEBEN🔥
Behind on points with only seconds left on the clock, Lieben kept wrestling right to the very end.
With the pressure on and time running out, he found a way to secure the takedown he needed and pull out the win!
What an exciting match to watch. That is exactly why you keep fighting until the final whistle — the match isn’t over until it’s over.
Awesome work, Lieben. A huge display of determination and composure when it mattered most! 👏🔥
🥇 HUGE SPECIAL MENTION — BODHI
Bodhi’s result deserves a story of its own.
Just six months ago, he had a broken leg and was stuck in a cast.
But instead of switching off, he continued doing whatever training he could while he recovered.
With only a few weeks of proper wrestling training under his belt before Nationals, Bodhi stepped onto the mat for what was not only the National Championships — but his very first wrestling tournament!
And he went UNDEFEATED.
🥇 NATIONAL CHAMPION.
That takes courage, determination and a willingness to back yourself.
Awesome work, Bodhi. We’re incredibly proud of what you achieved and really excited to see where wrestling takes you from here.
This weekend also marks the end of our proper tournament season for the year.
We’re going to wind things down, have some fun on the mat and give everyone a well-earned break.
👉 Monday the 12th will be our final training session of the year.
Then we reset, rebuild and come back in the New Year with an even bigger vision and stronger drive.
A massive thank you to all of our athletes, parents and supporters who have helped this group grow throughout the year.
The results are great — but watching these athletes become tougher, more confident and more capable every week has been even better.
We’ve come a long way with Nautalis Wrestling.
We’re nowhere near finished.
🔥 Bring on 2027 🔥
