What a way to hit the ground running !!

A couple of weeks on and we’re still laughing about this one ! 😂

Winona and Ella took on Leigh and Oli in a doubles match.

Leigh and Oli won the first game. It was pretty clear who the weak link in the team was so Oli was promptly substituted and replaced by Paul Coll.

Unfortunately for the boys, that didn’t help !

The girls took the next game so Leigh was sent to the bench and Oli came back on to join Paul.

Still no luck. It turns out even the addition of the World No. 2 wasn’t enough to stop the girls on the night 💃👏

A huge thank you to Winona, Ella, Paul, Oli and Leeeigh for putting on a fantastic show and giving the crowd plenty of laughs ! 🤩

We’ve all sat in the referee’s chair and had to make the crucial call !! 😬

We’re lucky enough to have two of New Zealand’s top referees, Glenn Carson and PK coming to the Thames Squash Club to share their knowledge and experience.

If you’re playing interclub, tournaments or club nights, this is a great chance to refresh your understanding of the rules, ask questions and feel a bit more confident next time you’re sitting in the referee chair !

A quick update ahead of tonight 👇

Unfortunately, Joelle has picked up an injury and will no longer be playing in the exhibition matches.

The good news is Joelle will still be joining us for the junior coaching session, meet and greet and Q&A, giving everyone the chance to hear from one of New Zealand’s greatest squash players ! 👊

We’re also excited to welcome Winona Joyce to the Thames Squash Club, who will now take on Ella Lash in our opening exhibition match.

And for our member match, things have taken an interesting turn…

Thames Squash Club President Leigh Robcke will team up with Oli Dunbar in a boys vs girls doubles showdown against Ella Lash and Winona Joyce ! 💥

Known around the club as “Stonehenge” for his movement on court, Leigh will be hoping Oli is feeling energetic tonight !!
