Vacancy: Youth Programme Support Worker (Kaimahi Tautoko)
Location: Tokoroa, South Waikato
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
Reports to: Manager

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Youth Programme Support Worker (Kaimahi Tautoko) to support the delivery of youth development programmes. This rewarding role provides an opportunity to work alongside young people, whānau, and community partners to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where rangatahi can thrive.
The successful candidate will assist with programme delivery, coaching activities, administration, and community engagement while supporting positive outcomes for young people and their communities.
About the Role
Working alongside the coaching team, you will help deliver structured youth development programmes through sport, mentoring, and positive leadership. You will support young people to build confidence, resilience, self-discipline, and a strong sense of belonging.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in delivering structured coaching sessions aligned with programme objectives.
Support after-school youth programmes and wāhine group sessions.
Build positive relationships with young people, whānau, and community stakeholders.
Promote positive values and behaviours in all interactions.
Maintain accurate attendance and participant records using organisational systems and CRM software.
Assist with administration using Microsoft Office, Canva, and email systems.
Support compliance with health and safety, child protection, and organisational policies.
Ensure programme facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming.
Participate in community events, fundraising activities, and prizegivings.
Support local, regional, and national sporting tournaments as required.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Requirements
Must be able to pass Police Vetting in accordance with Child Safety requirements.
Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Willingness to attend development hui, training sessions, and programme events.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Understanding of, or willingness to learn, relevant sporting rules, standards, and safeguarding requirements.
