Rāhui on Te Whiti Riser

Hutt City Council was informed yesterday morning of the sad loss of life at Te Whiti Riser. Our thoughts are with the person’s whānau and loved ones at this difficult time.

In accordance with tikanga Māori, Te Rūnanganui o Te Āti Awa has placed a rāhui on the walkway as a mark of respect.
We ask everyone to respect the rāhui and refrain from using the walkway until a notice confirms that it has been lifted following the person’s funeral service.

Thanks for your understanding and respect at this time.

We will deal with them as we can.
The one on Mohaka Meander has been trimmed to make it passable until we can get a contractor to deal with it with a chainsaw.

Just a heads up that the XC and Enduro events for the North Island Schools MTB Champs are on at WTP this Saturday and Sunday (28-29 March).

A lot of trails will be closed over these days, and there will be riders practising in the days leading up to the event.

Snail Trail is now open!

Huge thanks to Ricky for all the hard work getting it back into shape. The top section of the trail is back to downhill only.

Please help keep it in top condition by avoiding riding after rain for the first month or so while it beds in.
