With much pleasure we congratulate another merry batch of Umpire Award achievers:
* Colby Allen for achieving the NZC Badge
* Hamish Hull for passing the Zone Theory Exam
* Imogen Mitipelo-Moriarty, Maeve Heath-Camerson & Olivia Leamy for achieving their Centre Badge
* Joanne Livingston & T***s Masun for achieving their Introductory Badge
Prior to such success, a number of hours are dedicated to exam tutoring thanks to Rhys Egan-Reid & Claudia Hatfield. Thanks also to the combined efforts of a variety of umpire coaches who commit plentiful courtside hours to observe & assess. The season's not done yet so stick at it as we hope to acknowledge more in coming weeks!

With just 2 weeks left in the netball season, final games are now upon us. This Saturday we host the last match for collegiate grades and semis for all other grades. Big games can stir up big emotions. We all have a part to play to make sure our sporting cheer matches the impressive on-court flair. Keep it kind towards one another. Enjoy netball for what it is. And finish on a high! 🩷🪷

But wait… there’s more! Another Umpire Shout-Out goes to two more umpires who give selflessly to the cause without fail:
🙌 Thanks to Noni Shedlock who is that one reliable umpire who steps up in times of need, even umpiring three Prem level games one Saturday to help fill gaps. Noni has been a standout this season and we love her can-do attitude!
🙌 Thank you to Sarah Littler for the many-many hours gifted to umpire coaching not just on Saturdays but attending representative tournaments for U16s & U18s with LNISS upcoming as well. Sarah also leads our NWC NZ Umpire Panel. Your commitment is much appreciated by many!
We appreciate the support of Oat Cafe for bestowing generous vouchers upon these dedicated individuals. We hope you carve out a little time to treat yourselves to something yummy at their courtside café at Ākau Tangi Sports Centre

We recently called into Brooklyn School to offer some NetballSmart assistance in preparation for AIMS Games and were greeted by these well-balanced individuals! The team now understand injury prevention much better and appreciate how much warming-up like you mean it before every match plus aiming for at least 8 hours sleep to help weary muscles repair overnight - really matters. Thanks to Jess & Alice for warmly welcoming us in 🧡
Well done also to Rāroa Normal Intermediate School for this morning’s visit arranged by super-organised manager Lisa. Sorry we missed a photo-opp yet it was great to also get your team set for AIMS. Remember to stick together during your warm-up, keep spirits high whether on court or off, and respect umpire decisions & you’ll achieve great things. Refresh your Top 10 Tournament Tips here: tinyurl.com/3axambxc. All the best to both teams! 🙌

Exciting to share that our satellite Motu Kairangi Netball has their Year 1 to 4 netball programme locked in for Term 4 at Evans Bay Intermediate. This is a great opportunity for our young netballers to learn how to pass and catch, have good footwork, to play netball with a group of friends, as an individual, &/or as a school team, and most of all have some fun. Whanau are encouraged to join in to help these young tamariki on their netball journey.
If you cannot attend all dates, this is ok. You attend as many as you can.
If someone is unsure about attending by themselves, have a chat to your school about getting a group of students to attend. If this is not doable, rest assured we create an environment where everyone is made to feel welcome and can quickly make some new friends.
Please talk to your school about registrations and if you have any queries, please reach out to Jo at [email protected]
Term 4 Registrations are OPEN for all junior players (New entrants to Year 4). See your School Delegate for further information.
