A wild and windy day to start the summer bowls season today with many players trying to find their ever changing line to get to the jack and sneak a win or two before having to change greens.
4 teams ended the day with 4 wins but only 1 team stood out to take the main prize. Congratulations to:
1st place: Ritchie,Val and Staf.
2nd place: Mark,Sian and Loz.
3rd place: Brian,Steve and Gary
4th place: Gary,Chris and Bob
5th place: Gavin, Jayne and Gale
6th place: Anne,Steve and Mikie
7th place: Ivan,Tupp and Rob. Many thanks to the ladies in the kitchen for the tasty afternoon tea.

A day of 2 halves today as sunshine dominated the first half of the day and cloudy and windy conditions dominated the second half of the day. Those that handled the conditions certainly earned their wins and got the chocolates. Don O’Sullivan’s team came with a wet sail to get 1st prize with some brilliant bowling.

With 1 week to go until winter bowls finishes, teams are raising the stakes to finish in the money and salvage something before moving on to the summer bowls program. We had 3 teams finish with 3 wins but the team with the biggest differential and winners were:

Winter Bowls are now just two weeks from completion, with Summer Bowls set to begin on Opening Day, 29 August. On Tuesday, 18 players competed for the prize money, including a challenge from newcomers Gav, Jayne, and Maxine against the much more experienced team of Grant, Gale, and John. After a closely contested match, the game ended in a draw, so no beers were owed.
