𝗢𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘆𝘁𝗮!

Showcasing the product of hard work, Sui Generis: Brahman Debate Society marked its first-ever appearance in the National Debate Championship, the highest-level British Parliamentary debate tournament in the Philippines, finishing strong as Octofinalists after braving seven preliminary rounds and the Pre-Octofinals.

Held on January 23–25 and January 31–February 1, the tournament drew more than 110 teams and over 220 debaters nationwide. It was hosted by the FEU Oratorical and Debate Council of Far Eastern University.

This milestone marks the first time the University of Batangas has reached the outrounds of the National Debate Championship, a testament of the growing strength and competitive excellence of the Brahman Debate Society.

𝗦𝘂𝗶𝗚𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗬𝗘𝗖 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 🎉

Demonstrating economic expertise, the University of Batangas – Batangas City Campus, represented by the Sui Generis: Brahman Debate Society, reached the semifinals of the Young Economists’ Convention (YEC) Debate Competition, organized by the DLSU Angelo King Institute for Economic and Business Studies in partnership with DLSU EconOrg and various national and international organizations.

Red Duane Cabanggangan, John Frank Catequista, and Precious Dianne Orren advanced to the top four after navigating a competitive field that included delegations from Central Mindanao University, the University of Asia and the Pacific, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Aklan State University, Bicol University, and a composite team from the University of the Philippines Diliman and De La Salle University Manila.

The YEC Debate Competition aims to inspire aspiring economists to engage in exchanges and discussions on contemporary economic issues. Through a structured debate format, young economists showcase their ability to analyze economic challenges and articulate their ideas with clarity and logic.

SuiGen’s semifinal finish highlights the Brahman Debate Society’s continued presence in various academic competitions, reinforcing its reputation as a premier organization for training debaters who excel in both competitive discourse and substantive policy engagement.
