Dance Workshops at SilwerSteam Nordic Steampunk Faire 23-25 October. Let us spill the beans:
Welcome to a steamy introduction to FUNANA, an energetic music and dance genre.
The music emerged in the late 19th century in the island of Santiago in Cape Verde.
Under colonial time banned as it was considered as subversive, but after ca 100 years it became a national symbol of Cape Verde.

Very contagious music and up-tempo type of danced walk and accessible to anyone also without previous dance experience.
- In short, lots of FUN a.k.a. FUNANA.

Your guides will be Lady Tara n´ Tula and gentleman Mist.R. Fogg.
Come and dance with us 😊.

Tea-Duelling at SilwerSteam - Nordic Steampunk Faire, explained in pictures from the very first SilwerSteam 2017.
It is a form of duelling better suited to our steampunk society, where we dip biscuits into a cup of tea and stare intently at each other. As the old saying goes, it was "An elegant instrument, for a more civilized age…"

Let our Master of Ceremonies Montague Jacques Fromage/SteampunkFunk Bizarre show you how it's done and then come and join in yourself!
