Stockholm Forró Project Forró Project is an initiative to promote the Brazilian music and dance of forró in Stockholm.

OUR VISION
We envision a big forró community positively influencing our society by strengthening our appreciation for forró music and dance, as well as promoting diversity, equality, and inclusion through music and dance. OUR MISSION:
Our mission is to arrange quality dance events in a friendly and creative atmosphere that promotes our values so that dancers get inspired to spread harmony in our society, learn dancing and enjoy. OUR GOALS:
- Build a community
- Promote forró in Sweden
- Promote our values

- Diversity: everyone is individual and different.
- Equality: everyone is equal and respected.

🇬🇧 Becoming a member means becoming part of Stockholm Forró Project and showing that there is a community behind what we do.

Our number of members also helps us demonstrate the size and support of our community when we apply for funding and develop new projects.

Membership is free. You are not required to volunteer, participate in the day to day running of the association, or subscribe to our newsletter. However, volunteering and getting involved in the association’s activities are always very welcome.

Newsletter subscription is completely separate and optional.

Come spend a Sunday evening with Brazilian music, dancing and good company in the south of Stockholm ✨🇧🇷

Never tried forró before? That is exactly where you can start. We keep the workshop relaxed and beginner friendly, then let the music take over as the evening turns into a social dance party. Come to learn, dance, meet people or simply enjoy the atmosphere.

Bring a friend, your family or come on your own. No partner or previous dance experience is needed.

🗺️ Directions
The nearest station is Mariatorget. Take the Torkkel Knutssonsgatan exit and walk about 10 minutes towards the water. The boat is located between Märtha Restaurant and the Rygerfjord boat.

• 17.30 to 18.00 Doors open and socialising

💡 Useful information

☑️ Dance workshop
A relaxed introduction for first timers, with plenty of time to get comfortable with the basic steps and rhythm.

☑️ Food and drinks
We sell alcohol free drinks. You are also welcome to bring your own water.

☑️ Alcohol
Personal alcohol may not be brought into the venue.

☑️ No partner needed
We rotate partners during the workshop, and you can dance with different people throughout the evening. Coming alone is completely normal.

☑️ Dress code
Wear something comfortable that you can move in. Indoor dance shoes are preferred. Please clean your shoes before entering or bring a spare pair to help protect the dance floor.

☑️ Cloakroom
Free and unguarded. Please leave jackets there for fire safety and keep valuables with you.

💚 Wellness allowance
The workshop qualifies for Friskvårdsbidrag depending on your employer.
The party alone does not qualify.

Stockholm Forró Project 2026 continues 💃🕺🇧🇷

A few events have already passed, and we’ve shared many great moments on the dance floor. But there’s still more forró to come!

Here are the upcoming Workshop & Party dates for the rest of 2026. We’ll also be adding a few forró boot camps focused on specific topics along the way. More details will be announced soon, so keep an eye out!

Our events start with a beginner friendly workshop, followed by a Brazilian forró party.

No partner or previous experience needed. Come as you are.
