Every step, every transition, every jump and every collected movement starts with healthy, balanced feet. A skilled farrier does much more than trim and shoe. They help maintain balance, support healthy movement and can often spot small changes before they become bigger problems. Because no matter how talented the rider or how ambitious the training plan, everything starts with a solid foundation.

🤍 Mini challenge: Next time your farrier visits, ask some question about your horse’s hoof balance or movement. You might learn something that improves your riding too.

💡How to become a better rider? Transitions, transitions, transitions. If there is one exercise that benefits almost every horse and rider, regardless of discipline, it’s transitions. Not only between gaits like walk, trot and canter – but also within the gait itself. A few bigger steps forward. Then back again.

Transitions improve balance, responsiveness, strength and communication. They help your horse stay attentive to the aids and encourage more engagement from behind. The best riders use them constantly. Not because they’re exciting. But because they work.
