Singapore Netball Academy

On 25 May 2019, Centaurs Netball organised a Netball Carnival at Dulwich College Singapore. Singapore Netball Academy participated with four teams across the U11, U12, U14 and U15 age groups.

The carnival provided another valuable competitive development opportunity for our players. Throughout the day, our teams faced strong opposition from several expatriate academies and clubs, challenging them to apply their training, adapt to different playing styles, and compete at their best.

Our players demonstrated determination, teamwork and resilience on court, turning their learning into performance. The event concluded with excellent results for SGNA, with our U12 team crowned Champions, while our U15 and U14 teams secured 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Another important milestone in our players’ netball development journey and a proud day for SGNA.

100 Years of Organised Netball. ❤️🏐

A century ago, pioneers of the game laid the foundations for what netball would become today.

From simple outdoor courts and long skirts to fast-paced international competition, netball has continued to inspire generations of girls and women around the world.

At Singapore Netball Academy, we are proud to play a small part in that journey.

Every training session, every friendship, every challenge overcome, and every goal scored helps shape the next generation of confident, resilient and empowered young women.

As we celebrate 100 years since the formation of the first netball association, we also look forward to the future — where today’s players become tomorrow’s leaders, coaches, officials and role models.

Here’s to the women who built the game, the players who continue to grow it, and the generations still to come.

Every player who’s ever worn the SGNA jersey was once the new kid walking onto the court for the first time — not knowing anyone, not sure where they fit. And every single one of them found their place here.

That’s what Term 3 is. A fresh start for someone who’s never picked up a netball before, or someone who’s been wanting to try but hasn’t yet. New skills to learn, new friendships to build, wins to celebrate and challenges to grow through — together, as a team.

On 31 March 2018, Singapore Netball Academy organised the U12 Quad Series, a competitive international tournament designed to provide young players with valuable competitive experience.

The tournament featured teams from Singapore and Malaysia, including Singapore Netball Academy, Centaurs Netball Club, and Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Kosas Ampang Selangor. Matches were played across the U11 and U12 age groups, with shortened three-quarter games during the preliminary rounds and full four-quarter matches for the finals.

The Quad Series provided an excellent opportunity for our players to compete against international opposition, develop their skills, and experience different styles of netball. SGNA entered two teams in both the U11 and U12 divisions.

The tournament was a great success for SGNA, with our teams crowned Champions in both the U11 and U12 divisions. Our second U12 team finished as Runners-Up, while our second U11 team secured an impressive Third Place finish.

It was a fantastic day of netball, showcasing teamwork, determination, and strong performances from all our players. Another memorable event that reflected the SGNA spirit of hard work, development, and excellence.

Term 2 has been an incredible journey filled with training sessions, competitions, Perth tours, carnivals, friendly games, challenges and achievements.

As we enter the June holidays, we encourage our players and parents to take a step back from netball and enjoy something different.

Go cycling, swimming, hiking, rollerblading, play another sport, travel with your family, explore nature, meet your friends, or simply enjoy some well-deserved rest.

Great athletes understand that recovery is part of development. Sometimes the best thing you can do for your netball is to take a break from it.

Reset your body. Refresh your mind. Recharge your motivation.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting Term 3. ♥️🏐

A tradition we keep at the end of every SGNA Perth Tour — and one that never gets old.

Every player received an official tour certificate and a special personalised certificate recognising something unique they brought to this trip.

But more than any certificate, they leave Perth with new friendships, new experiences, and memories that will stay with them for years to come.
