When the dogs are as tired as the camp kids on the drive home 💤
Holy moly week 2! So much to say! We had Miss Teen Rodeo USA, El Cajon mounted police, our own student sang the national anthem for opening ceremonies, SOOOOOO many friends and family members came to watch our rodeo showcase and the kids pulled of an AMAZING show for them!!
We have 4 more weeks of camp but ONLY 3 HAVE OPENINGS! Grab a spot while you can!
Camp Week 2 is in full swing, and it has been absolutely amazing! ☀️🐴
Blue skies, perfect weather, happy horses, and smiling faces everywhere.
From learning new skills to cheering each other on, these campers are creating memories that will last long after summer ends.
Today was a special day for Stoney Oaks Ranch.
Not only did we kick off Week 2 of Summer Camp, but we also had the honor of hosting participants from the La Mesa Police Department’s Annual Leadership Camp.
These young women earned their place in the program by writing essays about leaders who have inspired them. Out of all the applicants, the Police Department selected 13 outstanding participants to attend this week’s camp experience. Each day they visit a different organization in our community, and today they chose Stoney Oaks Ranch’s Leadership Through Horsemanship program.
To make the day even more memorable, the El Cajon Mounted Police joined us for a special demonstration, inspiring not only the leadership camp participants but also our summer campers.
What an incredible example of a community coming together to invest in the next generation. Law enforcement, horses, mentors, volunteers, and families, all working toward the same goal: helping young people develop confidence, leadership, responsibility, and character.
I always say it takes a village. Today was a beautiful reminder that when a community works together, amazing things happen.

On Friday morning, our campers received a very special surprise when the San Diego County Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter flew over the arena to kick off our rodeo!
ASTREA (Aerial Support to Regional Enforcement Agencies) provides law enforcement, search and rescue, fire suppression, and emergency air support throughout San Diego County.
🚨And somehow... they made time to do a flyover for Stoney Oaks Summer Camp!🚨
I’ll be honest, I was told it was going to happen, but I didn’t completely believe it until I looked up and saw that helicopter coming over the arena!
The kids were absolutely thrilled, and it was one of those moments they will never forget.
A huge thank you to the ASTREA crew and all of the first responders who serve our communities every day. We are grateful for everything you do.
BIG SURPRISES HAPPENING NEXT WEEK TOO!!!!!
Congratulations to all of our campers for putting on such a wonderful show for all of their friends and family today! From Rodeo Queens to barrel racing, pole bending, vaulting and Mounted Shooting, they all had their time to shine in the arena.
What an amazing way to kick off summer!!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
