🐴 The Masterson Method® is Coming to Ames, Iowa!

We’re excited to welcome The Masterson Method® to Stagecoach Stables for a two-day Beyond Horse Massage Weekend Course, October 10–11!

This hands-on course introduces participants to the foundational techniques of The Masterson Method—an interactive method of equine bodywork that teaches you to recognize and respond to the horse’s subtle cues to help release tension and improve comfort, movement, and connection.

Throughout the weekend, participants will learn and practice directly with horses while receiving hands-on instruction and guidance from Masterson Method instructor Martha Becker.

Whether you’re a horse owner, trainer, bodyworker, equine professional, or simply someone who wants to better understand and support the horses in your life, this is a wonderful opportunity to add practical tools to your toolbox and experience The Masterson Method firsthand.

✨ Kids’ Events are back at Stagecoach! ✨🐴
If your kiddo can’t get enough of horses, our Kids’ Events are the perfect way to spend a few extra hours at the barn!

Each event brings a different theme and a new adventure, with plenty of horse time, riding, grooming, games, activities, and lots of barn fun along the way. 💛

And good news—we still have a few spots available THIS Saturday, September 12th from 6:00–9:00pm!

No horse experience is needed, and experienced riders are absolutely welcome, too. These events are all about giving horse-loving kids a chance to learn, play, ride, and make some pretty great barn memories.

He is fully retired, so now our favorite activities are things like long grazing sessions. But in his prime, we loved the showmanship!

Dunkin was delivered to my house right before Christmas. My doorbell rang, and I opened it to Dunkin tied to a tree! 😂🎄

Dunkin has also made his closest friend here, Freya. They are quite literally inseparable! ❤️

We’re Hiring!

We’re looking for an experienced, dependable horse person to join the Stagecoach team as a part-time Equine Caretaker! This is a hands-on morning position for someone who genuinely enjoys caring for horses and takes pride in providing thoughtful, attentive care.

Our Equine Caretaker will play an important role in the individualized care and wellbeing of our lesson herd. They’ll also work alongside our Equine Manager as part of the team providing excellent daily care for all of the horses who call Stagecoach home.

We’re looking for someone who is observant, reliable, kind, willing to learn, and comfortable handling a variety of horses. Most importantly, we want someone who shares our commitment to thoughtful, high-quality horse care.

🕐 Part-time | Approximately 20 hours/week
📅 Monday–Friday mornings
🐴 Horse experience required

✨ A little glimpse of Discover! ✨

Last night was filled with horses, riding, laughter, new friendships, and plenty of time to simply enjoy being at the barn. 🐴💛

But it was about more than just spending time with horses. It's about slowing down enough to discover more about who they are—how they think, communicate, connect, and how much they can teach us when we take the time to listen.

We loved watching these teens connect with the horses, with each other, and discover a little more of what makes time spent with horses so special.

WOW! We are SO excited about the response to In Hand, In Heart! ❤️🐴

Our Thursday evening session is already down to ONE remaining spot, but we still have room in our Friday morning session—and I'd love to find a few more horse-loving people to join us!

If your weekday mornings are a little more flexible, this might be the perfect opportunity to finally spend some time with horses. Whether you've always wanted to learn more about them, haven't been around horses in years, or simply love the idea of slowing down for a morning at the barn, we'd love to have you.

We'll spend 4 weeks learning how horses think and communicate, building confidence with handling and care, asking lots of questions, and—of course—spending plenty of hands-on time with the horses.

No riding. No horse experience needed. Just a curiosity about horses and a desire to learn. If you're waiting for a sign to get started, here it is! 🫶

Have you always loved horses and wished you had the opportunity to spend more time with them? Maybe you've never quite known where to start. Maybe you rode years ago and miss simply being around horses. Or maybe you're already a horse lover who wants to understand them on a deeper level.

In Hand, In Heart was created for you. ❤️

This four-week, hands-on experience is all about learning to really see horses -
We'll learn, ask lots of questions, groom, handle, observe, and spend plenty of time simply enjoying the horses. No riding. No horse experience needed. Just a curiosity about horses and a desire to learn.

We're offering two sessions this fall—one on Friday mornings and one on Thursday evenings—and we'd love to have you join us!
